The gargantuan, hairy spider slowly approached Alyssa, Markus and Derek one leg at a time; as if it were a graceful ballerina walking on a tightrope. The orbs of fire and light didn’t seem to affect the spider either. The flittering of fangs and tongues of spiders all around them, anticipating piercing flesh sounded like a swarm of insects approaching
“Please tell me there is some powerful magic you can use to get us out of here.” Derek said as he pulled out both of his daggers and waited; his eyes darting every direction.
“I have come to meet with the Ash Seer on a matter of great importance.” Alyssa said loudly, but the spider kept approaching and the sounds of its brethren coming near Grew louder.
“You got anything else?” Derek mused.
“Do you have any ideas?” Markus pushed back as he aimed his crossbow at a dark hole where several eyes were watching him.
“Running was my first, but now I’d settle for anything that keeps us alive.” Derek said.
