As the Alpha of Midnight Moon, my first priority is protecting my pack, not finding my mate. So when we are threatened by Dark Eclipse pack, my goal is to keep the threat away. I don't care about the upcoming Moon Goddess Ball, and I certainly don't care that I need a new Beta. Especially since the next person in line has been following me around like a puppy dog since we were little kids. Who cares if she's also beautiful?

I'm next in line to become Beta. It's too bad Alpha Micah refuses to recognize that I'm fully capable of helping lead this pack and keep them safe. He can be such a jerk! So what if he's also incredibly hot?

We need a plan to deal with Dark Eclipse pack, and that’s really all I can think about these days. I know there’s the Moon Goddess Ball that has most of the pack worked up into a tizzy, but that’s really not something I’m too worried about at the moment.


My mother has taken care of my suit, or whatever it is I’m wearing, and I know what time I’m supposed to show up at the event center.


That’s it. That’s the extent of my involvement with the ball.


I’m focused on the fact that we have another pack, one known for viciously invading neighboring pack lands and attacking, unprovoked, nipping at our heels, and attempting to gain access to areas close to our village.


A silly dance is going to have to wait.
