It was a bold move, but I’d managed to pull it off. Now, continuing on my way to training, I wasn’t sure if I should smile or cry.

James had made the suggestion to me, that I pretend that Micah not wanting to be with me was no big deal.

In reality, it is like a knife to my heart.

But James insists that if Micah thinks I don’t care about him, he’s more likely to try to come after me himself.

I want to believe the healer, but at the same time, I keep asking myself, “What the h*ll does James know? He isn’t even interested in romantic relationships.”

Still, it had felt good to see Micah’s response to my flippant, “‘Kay,” when he’d said sleeping with me was a mistake.

Putting that out of my head, I place my mat down in my usual spot and glance around. Normally, Alice is with Charlotte or Eli these days, but I don’t see either one of them, so she’ll have to settle for me.

How sad for her!
