As the Alpha of Midnight Moon, my first priority is protecting my pack, not finding my mate. So when we are threatened by Dark Eclipse pack, my goal is to keep the threat away. I don't care about the upcoming Moon Goddess Ball, and I certainly don't care that I need a new Beta. Especially since the next person in line has been following me around like a puppy dog since we were little kids. Who cares if she's also beautiful?

I'm next in line to become Beta. It's too bad Alpha Micah refuses to recognize that I'm fully capable of helping lead this pack and keep them safe. He can be such a jerk! So what if he's also incredibly hot?

The bodies of our enemies lay everywhere as my troops assemble after the battle. We’ve killed so many of the Dark Eclipse wolves that came after us, and the others have scattered back into the trees, likely headed for home.


I survey my people, back in my human form, wearing a pair of shorts from our broken transport vehicle. “You all fought so hard today.” My eyes flicker across each of their faces. “They always say that Dark Eclipse has the strongest forces of any pack, but that’s not what I witnessed today. Now, let’s head back toward home and hope we don’t have to fight again for a while.”


“Yes, Alpha!” they say all at once. A few of them have some wounds, a couple of them pretty severe, but we don’t have any choice but to get out of here, so some of my warriors stay in their human form and grab stretchers from the back of the vehicle to carry the wounded back to our village.
