Chapter 23: The Kiss of Death

Antoni P.O.V

Antoni tosses his pen onto the finance papers in front of him and leans back in his black leather office chair with a sigh.

The clock on the desktop to his left reads 4:35 pm – almost time to go home. He taps his fingers on the thick mahogany desk to the beat of the ticking gold grandfather clock flowing through the open door adjacent to his desk.

His eyes wander around the room, looking for nothing but something besides work to occupy their vision. The curtains on the glass balcony windows to his left are open, the soft sunlight of a tired sun roaming around the space and mixing in with the glow from the fireplace in the corner beside it.
