Chapter 27: The White Hammer

He watches as Victoria realizes what she said to him – ‘Go Die, as*hole.’

Her ragged breathing shallows out, quick thin breaths of hot air turning into long, slow deep breaths. Her face is pale, lips pressed into a thin line, and hands shaking violently at her side. Regret swims in her eyes, a mirror to his own.

And yet, unlike his, her eyes are still so incredibly bright it's as if green fireballs live behind her lids.

Antoni would bet his life on the fact that her eyes are brighter and more beautiful than any star in the sky.

He’s supposed to be furious at her, and a part of him still is. Every time he thinks about the danger she was in, he feels his stomach clench and his throat tighten making it hard to breathe. He cleaned the whole house twice upon their arrival in an attempt to work through the anger boiling his blood.

He knows why she kept the ice skating a secret, he can understand her reasoning.

But they promised.
