It’s Monday morning and the thought of going to class has me on edge. Although my life is crazy right now trying to track down a serial killer vampire, life goes on and I need to keep up appearances to not draw any suspicion toward me. Mostly with Abby.


She didn’t say anything when I saw her on Friday, but that doesn’t mean she won’t say anything at all. I need to keep a smile on my face and act normal. The last thing I want is for her to catch on because I can’t tell her anything about what is going on and it kills me because we have grown very close this semester and I hate having to keep this secret from her. But it’s for the best. 


I walk into the lecture room to see Abby sitting in our usual spot. I take a deep breath as I descend the stairs and walk into the row of seats. Abby looks elegant today with her mousy brown hair falling around her shoulders and is wearing a light blue summer dress. She is so stunning it hurts me sometimes.
