“Where’s Jasper?” Derek questioned, who was bouncing off the walls, after eating breakfast. It’s a Tuesday morning, so we are all prepared for the week ahead. Mondays are the worst in our house, but once Tuesday rolls around, we have our morning routine down to a science. “He was supposed to be here twenty minutes ago! I’m going to be late for school!”
I rubbed my temples, trying to subside the forming headache in my brain.
Honestly, I’m getting nervous. Jasper is never late to pick up the kids. He’s never let me down before.
Someone knocking at the door brought me out of my trance.
“Did someone order a ride to school?” Wes said, letting himself into the house.
Derek shot up from the kitchen table and ran over to Wes. He wrapped his arms around Wes’ torso and clung to him for dear life. “Thank you! Let’s go! If I’m not the first person at my desk, then someone else will be the MVP of fifth grade!” Derek shouted, tugging Wes out the door.
