Don’t abandon me!!!!!

Trent was staring at the document. His hands trembled reaching for the pen.

"Was this really happening?" He thought to himself. He stopped thinking it felt like he was rushing this a little. He looked up and Theodore was nervously wiping his brow watching Trent hold the pen.

Trent smelled something was up. He might not be all that special most places, but he had a keen sense of awareness. He then took a moment and read through the paper he was about to sign.

The first part didn't seem to have anything amiss in it. It detailed the items individually that he was inheriting. He kept reading till he got the to the last paragraph.

This part he stopped. He read it again, then again. Then he looked up at Theodore and narrowed his eyes. This was the reason he was hurrying him through the signing.

The last paragraph detailed instructions. That if not followed to the letter ment forfeiture of the inheritance in full. And as there were no other beneficiaries this ment the executor of the estate would inherit it all. Trent had taken a couple of contract law classes in college.

If Trent had signed this document without reading, he would have forfeited everything. The first line of the instructions said that explicitly. The next line that he read made him sweat a bit. He would not be allowed to sell any of the property for a period of three years, and also said he had to improve the property. The other issue was the account was locked, he would not be able to access it directly, and also would only be given a small allowance every month for the period of the three years.

Trent was happy about the allowance, this would help offset the loss of his second job to be here. The improvements however, made his head hurt.

The last bit though was even more curious. It detailed about his slave. Now while Trent was a normal man, and had his fantasies, this was a bit far fetched even for him. He then looked over at the maid, and she blushed. He then turned back to look at Theodore who had this look like someone farted in his face. "Can you just sign it now so I can get going? I am a busy man and have things to do!" he says.

Trent smiles at him "I have read the document, I have noted the stipulations. Though, is this really legal? owning a slave?" he asks turning around and looking at Akane again. She was small, dainty, and what he would describe as cute. She seemed reserved, quiet, definitely nothing like most teenage girls. He looked back at Theodore.

He scoffed "Of course it is legal". His annoyance at the situation palpable. Theodore only did this because he thought he had a chance to get some quick easy money if Trent did not show. But now that he had shown, he was hoping to get him to push through it without reading the contract so he would still win.

But this man actually read the contract, ruining Theodore's plans. Now he had to hope he screwed up later. It was not a complete loss yet, there was still a chance for him to take this property and that loaded bank account. He nodded " there are no other stipulations, now, if you are satisfied, please sign the paper so I can go back to my day" his agitation growing.

Trent did not know why, but he enjoyed seeing Theodore flustered and upset. He did not give the greatest first impression, and the longer things went by, the less Trent liked him. So he took his time, slowly moving, easily picking up the pen. He even stopped to yawn twice before lazily placing the pen tip on the paper. The more agitation Theodore showed, the slower Trent moved.

When Trent finally crossed the last T and dotted the last I, Theodore snatched the document off the table, and slammed it in his briefcase. "I will check on you in thirty days and see how you are improving the property" he said, he then pulled a check out of his jacket pocket, tossed it into the air, and promptly left.

Before the check even hit the floor, Theodore had vanished with the sound of the front door slamming behind him.

Trent took his ID off the desk, then walked over and picked the check up off the floor looking at it. His eyes bulged out. This was his monthly allowance?! There were so many zeros....

He blinked his eyes and looked at it again, he then rubbed his eyes. He looked over at Akane who was still standing still near the door of the office. "Can you read the number on this check for me please?" he asks walking over and handing the check out in front of her.

Akane nods "Yes Master, the check says the number one hundred thousand dollars." her straight black hair falling by her face a little when she nods.

Trent thought he would not get used to being called master any time soon. He tried to quickly use his mobile phone to deposit the check, but it showed to be way passed the mobile banking deposit limit. Looks like he would have to go to the bank directly.

As Trent was turning to leave, he heard a soft voice behind him. "Please do not leave me here..."

He turned around and saw Akane looking at him with wet eyes. He then thought about everything that was happening, and cursed himself for being so stupid. He walked over to her and gave her a hug "It is ok, you dont have to be a slave any more" and then starts patting her head.

But to his surprise, instead of joy, she shows him a face of terror. She suddenly grabs his arms and holds him in a vice tight grip "Please don't discard me.... please.. I beg of you..... don't send me away..... don't abandon me.... please Master" she fell to her knees holding his sleeve.

She started sobbing "I promise I will be good, please don't get rid of me....."

Trent was stunned, this is the exact opposite of the reaction he was expecting her to have. He quickly patted her head "Ok ok.... calm down..... I wont get rid of you...." muttering to himself. He did not know what to do so he sighed "Fine you can come with me, please don't make this awkward" he says and then turns around to walk out of the door. He takes another look at the inside of the house. This was going to take a LOT of work. At least he had plenty of money now!

When he reached the door, he noticed he did not hear anything behind him. He turned around to see Akane still kneeling on the floor eyes stained with tears with a look of shock on her face. "Well are you coming or not?" he says, looking at her.

She snaps out of her stupor, quickly wipes her face and jumps to her feet to follow before she gets left behind.

Trent leaves the house with her walking towards the bus stop. "Damn, he didnt even give me the keys!" Trent cursed Theodore again.

However Akane voiced out "Master, there were no keys to give..... there are no locks in the house"

Trent stopped walking, NO LOCKS?! he thought. What kind of eccentric uncle was this?! He sighed and added that to his list of things to do. This was quickly becoming more of a pain than a pleasure. He then looked at Akane again. "At least she is cute" he says out loud without thinking.

Akane blushes again, but says nothing following him.

They continue to walk in silence toward the bus stop. Akane staying behind him and to his left by three paces. After a bit of silence Trent cant take it anymore and asks "So how did you come to be owned by my uncle?" he asks with curiosity.

Akane didn't stutter or stop "My parents sold me to him to cover their debt" she said matter of factly.

Trent stopped, and turned to look at her "THEY SOLD YOU?!" he said loudly, a few people around them stopped and looked over at this point.

Akane didnt seem to mind or even care "Yes, My father had a gambling problem, and my mother worked at a brothel. When your uncle saw me, instead of forcing them to pay money, he demanded they sell me instead. My parents were even excited to save the money..." her voice fell a little bit. "If it was not for your uncle, I would have ended up working in that brothel myself, or worse.... I owe him my life" she then smiled "Which is why even if he did not want me to, I would have still served him. And now, because his last wish is that I serve you, I will honor that with every fiber of my being..... Master.... so please do not look down on him."
