Chapter 7

Elonis' Moon's base Aquatis.

For Tara the four hour flight from Elonis to Aquatis wasn't soon enough. She was ready take on her assignment. She figured the sooner she got there the sooner the two years would be up, and she desperately wanted to see Earth.

Aquatis looked so big in person. The moon is fully emerged in ocean like water. Huge waves and storms. As the transport got closer. She finally saw the large man made platform's. It was mostly ship hangers for the E Defenders, with several large housing units, and other miscellaneous buildings.

Once the transport landed on the large runway. Tara was the first to stand up and leave the shuttle.

The transport shuttle dropped them off near a small hanger.

"Gather round, gather round!" the voice from a short, and stocky man barked in a high pitched voice.

"I am Grand General Davenport. I am the commanding officer of Aquatis Moon base. In this hanger you will find your E Defenders. You are each assigned one, and that is your baby for the next two years. The building to your left is your dorms, and the building directly behind the hanger is the mess hall. All recreational areas are in the dorms. Welcome and enjoy your stay. " The grand General announced.

Tara walked into the hanger. Each E Defender had a poster board in front of them with the belonging pilots names attached. These were brand new ships! Only flown for testing and safety checks. She couldn't believe her eyes. Her ship was beautiful. Silverish chrome in color with a navy blue stripe. Her's also had a blue shark silhouette painted on the side.

After everyone got familiar with their E Defenders the Grand General ushered them to the dorms.

Tara found her room. Amazed as she looked around. She had a bed! At academy they slept on cots which she thought was an improvement from home. Her family was poor. She shared a room with her parents in a one bedroom studio apartment. She never had a bed. Her mother would make her a pallet on the floor. Tara was also excited to see she had a closet and dresser full of clothes she would need for the duration of her stay.

Tara unknowing that all military bedrooms were the same wandered what Kolten's room looked like. Did he enjoy it as much as she enjoyed hers? Probably not she thought. His family lived in the upper levels of Elonis. They were wealthy unlike her family who lived in the lower levels. His bed alone was probably bigger than her whole room she chuckled. Before she knew it. She heard the high pitch squeaky voice of the Grand General on the intercom and sirens going off.

"All pilots to the hanger! Time to kick some space pirate ass!"

I'll never enjoy that voice she thought to herself. However she was excited for her first mission.

Tara ran to the hanger and grabbed her gear. Finally time to put to good use of all this training she thought.

Tara jumped into the cockpit and the glass hatch closed as she pushed the button.

"Systems check" the traffic Marshall shouted at Tara. Tara gave him thumbs up.

"Engine thrusters on" he yelled.

Tara gave him another thumbs up.

"Go! Go! Go!" He screamed while waving her the green battons to take off.

Down the runway and finally in the air. Her first take off was successful. Now time to kick some Space pirate ass!
