A chase

A line of people waited outside the dungeon.

"Tell me why we are here."

"Don't know. Our boss said so."

"What is our mission again?"

"Catch a person with a name D."

They had a lively conversation but no one wanted to enter dungeon anymore.

Excepting a group of people wearing black suit.

"They are"

"Execution team. They go for a kill."

Looking a group of people entering the portal, they could only bite their lips in frustration.

What should they report to our boss? Saying that their target has been killed.

Inside the portal

"Fast clear fast clean. Are you clear?" a leader of team said.

"Understand" all of them replied.

"Wait a minute" a voice rang out.

"Hmm" a leader looked at the person who raised his hands.

"I'm just a bit confusion. Why we are here just for a E rank hunter? Don't we have many enemy that should be eliminated from the list first?"

A person wanted to scold for being rude but

"It's fine. I will tell you why" his leader stopped him before the conversation went worse.

"I want to ask you this one first." He took a deep breath. "Do you know why our underworld exists until nowadays without being caught by government?"

"It is not clear. All thank to our clever boss, he mercilessly kills all spies hiding in his city."

"And do you know why he knew those spies despite not moving from his place?"

"He may have his own channel." he took a glance at his leader's face before adding "To collect information from government."

"Correct but not exactly. He does have his own channel since this is a must. However, the main reason is that he has a kill called [Prophet]."

"Prophet. That means he is …"

"Correct. He has just told me that he saw a collapse of his own empire."

"You mean"

"That's right. The source of collapsing his empire is caused by a person named D. That person will eradicate our organization in very near future."

"What. Isn't the person who we are looking for just a E rank hunter? Wait a minute." that guy suddenly realized something.

"He may a fake ranker. We suspect that person comes from government since our relationship with government is not good."

In the boss room

"Hmm. Who are they now?" Jean woke up again because of terrifying mana.

"C. No. With this amount. Should be B rank." She measured their strength before she asked herself again "What are they doing here in E rank dungeon?"

Sitting on the corpse of boss, she felt confused.

"I kill someone important to them." Remembering people that she had killed, no one could be considered importance crossing her memory.

"Or I unconsciously provoked someone." thinking back, she tried to remember who she had offended.

"No idea" she shook her head.

"However, since they are here, let test them a little bit." she controlled 2 swords that killed many criminals so far to greet them.

When those swords was ready to slay their head.

A leader of team caught those swords without putting any efforts.

"A child play." he could see the string connecting. "Don't make me laugh"

He broke those 2 swords easily with his bare hands.

After confirming his target, he gave a sign to his team. His team all sped up to the boss room.

"B rank seems a little too much for me." She wasn't a Jin-woo with broken buffs so she said no to this one.

Jean stood up and pulled out a scroll that she bought from illegal store.

[Teleport scroll]

She bought this in order to secure her life. Now, the situation suddenly went south without reason.

She ripped it without hesitation escaping the boss room. Usually, when the boss is still alive, the teleport scroll can't be used.

However, the boss is killed by her so she could teleport out.

After disappearing from dungeon, the execution team kicked the door flying across the room.

"Everyone spreads out."

They spread out to search their target.

"Sir. There is mana rift. That guy teleported out of this place."

"Can you track a trace?"

"It's hard but not impossible for me." He used his skill to send a signal into that rift.

"According to signal, the teleport place is on surface"

"Damn it. Everyone. Move out"

They left dungeon after confirming their target had already left.

On the surface

Jean camouflaged herself and blended in the crowd on the street.

"It's night now. Jin-woo should be done with clearing boss type Snake." She thought the order time of plot.

"I should buy some snacks and fried chicken to celebrate his first solo."

After buying food for her brother, she went home.

She opened the TV and dug in her food.

"Jean. This something good come for you."Jin-ah saw lots of food on table so she asked.

"I have just got my salary. Feel free to enjoy it with me."

"Alright. About money for"

"Here" Jean laid a bag of paper money on table "You go and pay your school fee. The remain is your money."

"Thanks, sister. With this amount, I can pay this month, next month and next month. Where did you get this much money?"

"Ah. I sell swords that I collected in dungeon" Jean said but thought differently 'Only 5% income come from selling swords.'

'Most of my money comes from illegal operation.' she furrowed her brows. 'Because it was illegal so she didn't have to pay tax.'

Tax was a big obstacle for her journey in this world. Anything come from dungeon is considered a special tax.

Since it is a special tax, it's too high that even Jean laughed at people who offered this rate.

70% of what you found in dungeon will be sent to government as tax. To make it worst, they even enacted double tax.

Not only they taxed on your dungeon raid, they also taxed on your income.

"No wonder underworld grows so big that government keeps their eyes on it."

In government's perception, her action was undoubtedly wrong. However, many big guilds also didn't pay tax like her. They only paid a small number of it. The rest. They hid it.

Major won minor so her action wasn't wrong. This is just a common sense in this world. No excuse.

Jean watched TV and tried to find an answer that can explain the sudden movement in underworld.

She still didn't know why they target her but.

"They may contribute Jin-ah's death in future so I better destroy underworld in future."

Thinking death fate clung on Jin-ah, she connected 2 events as 1.

"Destroy them is too much for me. Maybe I make them weak enough so that government can solve them."

She continued her meal while making a grand plan to inflict damage on underworld.
