Becoming Part of him

My men seeing this ran to stop her from approaching. My men don't know pup when it comes to harm. They believe anyone can harm. The parent of the pup ran forward to but I stopped them.

"Let her be" I ordered.

My men moved back a little while the parent of the pup went back almost crying. I knew the lad wanted to say something so I didn't want them to stop her.

"Everyone is free to speak even if it's a pup" I said looking down at the pup.

I even got down from my chair to go meet her so I would hear whatever she wants to say.

"So what do you have to say pup?" I asked her.

" Alpha I'm Celine and my mama told me that you will be as nice as our dead alpha" she said with her childish voice. " Is that true?"

"Do you want me dead?" I asked the pup.

Our conversation could be barely heard since the pup's voice isn't so loud. Everywhere was silent so that they could all hear the conversation but the child's voice wouldn't let it go far but I know those that heard will tell those that didn't. I could see fear in the pine pack's members especially the pup's parents.

"No" the pup shook her head.

"May I ask a question pup?"

The pup nodded.

Which is better? A kind alpha that was killed due to his kidneys and couldn't protect his land and people or a brutal one who wouldn't even allow anyone close to his people or land?"

I was looking forward to the pup's reply. She then pouted and put a finger on her lips as if in a deep thought. I really like the pups courage, if she's an alpha breed she would be a good leader.

"The brutal alpha would be better. At least he won't loose his land, family and friends like I did" she said enthusiastically.

I ruffled her hair. " Good thinking pup".

"But will the brutal alpha be nice to his people?" She asked again.

" Even a brutal alpha loves his people" I replied.

I was really patient with the pup.

"Then he is a good alpha" she smiled. "Why there be candy?" She asked with excitement.

Actually I didn't know what a candle is but I don't want to prolong matters here so I gave a nod. The pup became so happy and she gave me an unawares peck and ran back to her parents. I couldn't help but twist the edge of my lips at how adorable and bold the pup is. Not that I don't have pup in my pack but there scarcely come near me or let me say I'm rarely available for them.

Do not blame me, I was a pup too when my parents left me and I had to survive on my own. This little acting made me crave for my own pups. I even had in my heart to get closer to the one at the pack house. I didn't get to realise that I was off for seconds. I quickly adjusted and continue the ceremony.

I went to my seat after I ordered the swearing to start. Then the beta, whom I don't even know his name, who came to me came forward. He bent on a knee and started.

"I Gabriel, the beta of pine pack, swear a fealty today before the moon goddess to the alpha of Sceptre pack, alpha Bounce, to do all that you apha Bounce has bid me and be loyal till the end of the earth. If betrayal flows from me or I'm an accomplice to betrayal, may I and my family die like chicken" he sworn, stood up and signed the contract on behalf of all his people.

"Oh his name is Gabriel" I said to myself.

Just as he took the oath and the binding ritual of drinking the water that has drops of my blood in it, his eyes shown and I knew then he was now the beta of my pack. This I didn't want but I don't have a choice here since I don't have a beta. I would have created one if I have the power to use one of my loyal men. For years I rejected alpha blood and beta's in becoming my people. I know how dominant they can be with their show of powers. With all my avoidance, I still ended up with a beta.

I know I wasn't the only one who saw the commission of my new beta. It gave a vivid sign. I don't know what my men felt but I've always know them to be loyal.

After Gabriel every other member of the pack swore their fealty. The more they did this the more I felt their bond in my body. It was like blood running through my veins. Even their pups took the drink even if they couldn't talk, some tried and it sounded funny that other laughed. I didn't because the process was quite tiring.

"You will all have your land and properties. Nothing would be taken from you except you want to exchange it for another. Nothing would be taken from you. The only difference is that there won't be border between us and your pack name will be changed. Also your pack house will be demolished because we can't have two pack house. Beta make sure every necessaries are well handled.

"Yes alpha" Gabriel said.

I didn't need to address my own people again. I've done that already before today. I had given them strict warnings about segregation and it's consequences. They've never failed me and I know they wouldn't now.

"Alpha, there's fire coming from the restrictions room" a guard came to inform me.

I looked toward the restriction room where he told me, even with the distance I could see the smoke. It wasn't a big deal and I knew there is no no cause for alarm.

We have a lot of restrictions room aside from a normal jail. We do put tougher criminal there or people whom we want to seclude from mingling with others. The room might be looking comfortable but it has lot of hidden turtoring weapons in them. Only myself and one other person is allowed in the room. The punishment for anyone whomwe put there is enormous, except the person is not a criminal. I wonder who was there causing such ruckus. I didn't bother myself about it because I know my men would take care of it.

"Mitchell, go take care of it" I ordered my real assistant.

" Yes alpha" he said and left without hesitation.

Talking about Mitchell, he is my real second in command. I know I said Moi was my second in command but Moi seconds me when it comes to outing. I use Moi for his experience in dealing with things. I have different assistant for different post but talking about Mitchell, he is the one that second me in all the my affairs. He is like a boss to Moi and the rest. I am the only one he takes orders from.

Mitchell is more closer to me than anyone in the pack. I wouldn't trade him for anything. His loyalty is well spoken. He is more than a friend to me even if I never called him that. He didn't even know how I feel about him.

Mitchell was on a run when I met him. He is the same age as I am. I was twenty when I met him and he stocked with me till now. I know it's a very long time but that's the truth. And the real truth was that when I met him, he stole from his alpha and the alpha wanted to execute him for stealing but his mother who works in the pack house made him to escape.

I know you would be wondering why I'm harboring a their. I'll say that if it was I, I would have done worse if I'm in Mitchell's shoes. In fact when we met, we did a lot of stealing together and they are mostly clothes and food. How we started this big pack was all Mitchell's sacrifice. He wouldn't even mind dying for me in the process.

He also wants revenge against his extended family like I did. They are the reason he is where he is today. When he heard my story, he was even more determined to help me more even though I had nothing. We both suffered a lot. Unlike Moi that came when things was a little good, Mitchell followed me through the thick and thorns. I know how many times he took the blame for me just so that my revenge plan won't die. Sometimes I do wonder if it was my revenge or his. Of all the people I know, Mitchell is the only one that makes me laugh, the only one I open up to like a family. The only one whom I allow to tame the beast inside of me. I had wished so many times that he is a beta blood so he could be my beta. Whene6 I tell Mitchell this, he would say "Bounce it doesn't matter with post, I'll always be by your side" and he has always fulfilled it.

I even told Gabriel how precious Mitchell is to the pack. I made him accept Mitchell as a boss before I agreed to accept his pack which he gladly accept. If not that Mitchell isn't an alpha blood, we would have been said to be non-identical twins. We do all things equally. There wasn't a difference in how I would solve a problem and how he will. He is highly respected, just as I am. In fact the aura he do emit is like the alpha himself. There was a day I told him that it's as if his wolf is becoming an alpha and he laughed it off.

Despite our closeness, Mitchell wouldn't disrespect me but private and public. His reference was duely to the alpha I am. Sometimes I do tell him he is over doing it. It's not as if I havent had I securities about him wanting to claim the alpha but his actions in this past hundreds of years, has made me known that there is no betrayal in him.

When Mitchell found his mate, I thought things were going to be different. Even it got to my ears as people said his mate is going to make him see that he is enslaved by me. I was very careful then but all turned out to be sham. He was even more loyal than when he was mateless.

As the mate of my second in command, I allowed her to run the pack affairs along with Zin which I know Zin doesn't like but has no choice. She wowed me when she took care of the pack like her own and never tried to claim it as her own. Zin most times as tried to suspect things about her but I wouldn't let her conti6her words before I scold her. Zin if in the normal world is like a grandma to Mitchell's mate but because of Mitchell, she's a subject under her. I've never seen her act rude to Zin once. I just know Zin was only have insecurities which is quite normal.

There's a secret about my mate and mate bond that no one knows about. I didn't even tell Mitchell about it because I know he would scold me and wouldn't be happy with what I did at all.

The ceremony is over now and I want to have my good sleep. I didn't care a bit about the burning house. I need a lot of rest before the big plan ahead. I retired to my chambers to have a good deep sleep while I let the rest merry and welcome the new members of the pack.
