Mating Bond

"It's obvious" she grumbled. "But enemies or no enemies, we are standing on the same ground we shouldn't ignore each other. We should talk" she lectured.

" Enemies?"I asked raising my brow.

If she had been my enemy, I wouldn't even be standing near her. I would have had her head off her shoulders in seconds. Enemies don't have a chance with me.

"Yes we aren't friends" she said with pride.

I shrugs and said nothing.

"Let's have a chat" she said.

"Not interested" I said bluntly.

I don't know why she's still insisting on talking to me after turning her down.

She raised her nose at me. "Don't be mean alpha" she scolded.

"I am mean. Get used to it" I replied baldly.

She shows me her gritted teeth and I chuckled but it didn't show in my eyes. She didn't mind what I said and she chatted on. She told me alot about herself which were kind of interesting. I just watched her as she talked. I only said few words. I never answered any questions she asked me but she never mind.

"Do you really eat your people or dead bodies?" She asked me.

I didn't reply her. I wished I could laugh out loud but I think I've forgotten how to laugh.

" History says you do but right from time I didn't believe the history. I think it's an exaggeration" she said confidently.

" Why?"

" Because since I got here not one thing said about you as been true".

" That's because you don't have a reason to see it. I'm a real demon" I told her to scare her.

" Are you trying to scare me?" She been a smart girl asked.

" What do you think" I asked showing her my fang.

She moved back a bit, looking at me with some strange eyes.

"I think the moon goddess is partial" she said.

" Why?"

"How come she gifted you with such good and perfect looks when you have such evil character. An evil person should look evil not angelic" she said grudgingly.

Derek was laughing so loud in my head while I snorted putting all my effort not to burst into laughter.

"That girl can't be serious" Derek said still laughing.

" Ofcourse she is" I said looking at her face. " You think I'm good looking?" I asked her.

" Are you trying to boast to me? Cut the pride alpha, you are not the only good looking one" she said as if she's jealous but I know she's only scolding me.

I looked at her and shook my head. I then stopped walking and sat on a bench I saw. She didn't even hesitate to sit beside me. I know she's already warming up to me. Even with my brutality, I don't shy people away. They are just the one who don't know that I'm not so tough and I also don't let them close, so they won't know that I'm accomodating. Even few of my people knows that I am because I'm scarely around them. So once they seem me, they are happy and behaved themselves. This one is just getting so privileged and I don't know why.

"I don't smell a mate on you" she said.

I know what she's trying to ask but I'm not ready to reply. There is a long story between my mating bond. To tell the truth, I've sacrificed it. I can't have a mate untill I die. No one knows that, not even my close pals.

"Neither do you" I told her.

"I'm still young but you are not" she justified herself.

I shrugs.

"Well not all werewolf has mates but I think the moon goddess is so still brutal. How can she give some such good looks and not a mate that would tell him how he looks every morning?" She asked with a frown.

I wonder why she was defending me.

"Well, with the looks I can have any woman I want".

" But none will give you a pup that will inherit your looks and all you have" she said blankly.

Her words hit me and that made me glare at her. This was something I've been telling myself that I don't mind but she's trying to make me reason about it.

"Sorry" she whispered knowing she over spoke.

" I don't need a pup just for inheritance. I have lot of them" I said dryly.

" Liar" she murmured and I gnored her.

I wouldn't want to deny that I didn't enjoy the evening I spent with Jessy. She's a very lively one. No one has ever been free with me. Even later that day, Mitchell came to join us with his wife. They were quite surprised to see me with Jessy. But they joined us.

In no time Jessy and Mitchell's wife were already talking about different types of flowers while I talked with Mitchell.

"Didn't know you had a company" he started.

I already knew where he was going so I didn't reply.

"What's going on alpha? The last time you visited her too, you sat down with her and now you're seated with her too" he said casually.

" She wouldn't stop talking" I said blankly.

Mitchell looked at me and said nothing. I know a lot of thought would have been running through his mind.

"Say what you want to say" I said to him.

" With the way you've been behaving with her, is she your mate?" He asked suddenly.

I couldn't help but cough that the females looked at me. I then looked at Mitchell after my cough.

"I told you I can't have a mate" I said in ire.

" Why?" He asked not minding that the issue was getting me pissed off.

Mitchell had so many times asked me to go look for my mate and I told him that I don't have a mate. He wouldn't believe me. He feel I'm just been irrational but I know he couldn't understand me.

"Nothing" I snapped.

"How then did you know you can't have a mate?" He asked.

I wanted us to change the topic but I know Mitchell, he wouldn't let go.

"If I had wanted to have one, I would have found her years ago" I told him.

" That's because you didn't go find her" he said cussedly.

Now the truth about my mate.

Mitchell and I were doing our usual job which is hunting for what to eat as we are about to continue another journey. I then took one side, while he also did the same. I then got to a place where flowers were. That was the first time I was fascinated by a garden. After so many years that little flower garden seem to be like the only beautiful thing I've seen in years. I bent down to touch it, then I heard a voice.

"Don't touch that. They may look beautiful but they are dangerous" the voice said.

I jumped at the voice because I wasn't expecting to see anyone. Then look up to see a very beautiful woman who was bearing baskets of fruits in her hands. I looked at her not knowing what to say.

"Theses flowers are not ordinary. They don't love to be touched by strangers" she said to me touching the flowers.

I doubted what she said. " If you don't want me in your garden just talk not make up lies" I said blankly.

She smiled at my words. " You think?" She asked me.

"Of course" I replied with confidence.

I didn't even want to know who she is. I'm as bold as a Lion and I'm not afraid of whatever could happen.

"Then you can touch it" she said.

I looked at her and didn't touch it.

"Scared?" She asked and it got me angry.

I thought that how could she think someone like me who is walking alone in the bush can be scared of these harmless flowers.

"You can't tell me what to do" I snapped again.

I was very vicious but I was equally curious to see if the flowers can truely hurt.

"Ease alpha Bounce" she said to me calmly.

This was what brought my ego down. She called my name and even added the title I was suppose to have to it.

"Do you know me?" I frowned.

"I know everyone" she replied.

I glared at her for saying such rubbish. Who on earth knows everyone? She's been tricky to me. I wondered if she had by chance meet with Mitchell on the way and he has explained all about me to her. But that was dumb of me to think because I know Mitchell isn't a loose mouthed one.

"Don't you play games with me?" I blurted out.

She ignored my rudeness and continued. " Ain't you on a quest to search for your own pack that would help you get revenge?" She asked.

I got another surprise.

" Don't be surprised. I told you I know everything" she said with a smile.

I couldn't say a thing I was just looking at her.

"Do you want to become more stronger?" She asked me.

" Are you a witch?" I asked her.

She then shook her head. "I came here to help you" she replied.

"And how are you intending to do that?" I asked haughtily.

" To make you stronger so that you can be able to face your enemies and defeat them totally" she replied.

This picked my interest. I looked at her to continue.

"I know you are so desperate to have your revenge but Bounce, you can't have it now. If you try it, they will kill you" she said.

This got me angry again. " I thought she said she wanted to help me, why then is she telling me not to have my revenge now" I said to myself.

" Well the ball is in your court. I'll give you three options and you can have any one of your choice" she said.

I was so eager to hear the options. I thought she was going to tell me but instead she brought out three balls and told me to pick one of them. I hate things that put me in suspense.

"Can't you tell me yourself?" I asked her.

" No" she said stretching the balls.

I took one and opened the balls without even getting her permission. I told you I hate suspense. The female didn't stop me. She just allowed me. I saw the paper in there but I couldn't read and write.

"Don't know this" I said to her sadly.

I could remember how my parents would make sure I learn how to read and write when they were alive. The female came forward and put her hand on my head. I wanted to slap her hand away but the touch made me dizzy.

"Look back to the paper" she ordered.

Which I did immediately with been able to refute the order. I then realised that I can read.

"You'll be very great and mighty and your name will be heard all through lands. Your pack will be as wide as the oceans....".

As I was reading this joy filled my heart as. It was as if they knew exactly what I aim for. I applauded myself for picking the right choice. I then continued to read.

"But you'll be able to conquer your enemies by hundred years to come" this pissed me off that I looked at her. "Are you joking? How can you tell me that I'll be able to defeat my enemies hundred years to come. How then would I be? This is absurd. How come you gave me this rubbish choice. I don't want. I want my revenge as soon as possible" I bawled.

" Patience is the virtue Bounce" she said.

" I don't want it" I snapped.

"Well you don't have a choice here" she said.

I was still wondering why she's calm despite all my rude attitude. Who is she?

"One more thing, there's a way you can make your people as strong as an alpha wolf" she added.

That pricked my attention. I forgot about the hundred years for now. " How do you want do that?" I asked with enthusiasm.

I didn't even think that the only person I have with me right now is Mitchell. But I want a strong pack who can conquer the whole world.

"There is a big price to pay".

"I don't care. I'm ready" I said.

" You have to sacrifice your mating bond".

I looked at her. " What use is the mating bond?" I asked her.

I've not been with a woman sice I was born and it's not as if it affected me in anyway. I don't even know what it feels like to have a woman.

"You don't know?" She asked me.

"I do but I'm not interested. If sacrificing it will make me have all those things you said, I'll do it" I said quickly.

She looked at me before nodding. She then took a little knife and moved closer to me. I looked at her but I wasn't afraid of what she wanted to do. She then took my hand and cut me deep. I didn't even wince at the pain. She then collected few drops in a jar. I don't even know when she had that jar. She put some mixture and then gave it to me to drink. I took it and wanted to drink.

"Ain't you afraid that I'm going to poison you?" She asked.

" I'm not. I'm going to die once" I said blankly.

She then shrugs and watch me drink the mixture. When I drank it I didn't feel anything so I thought she tricked me.

"Are you sure you didn't do this just to make fun of me?" I asked giving her a suspicious glare.

"If I don't want to help you I won't" she said. " Patience is a virtue" she added.

She then start to leave. " Wait?" I called at her.

She looked back.

" What's your name?" I asked.

"Selene".

As she said her name, her face turned to the color of the moon and she smiled. I almost got a shock. I had been talking to the moon goddess all the while and I don't know. I feel down to my knees to worship her. I didn't even have the mind to apologize for my rude attitude. I wonder why she still helped me even when I didn't deserve it.

By the time I looked up, she was gone and it was then I begin to feel the power of what she gave me. Pain ran through my body and my wolf begin to take over. I fell to the flower and they stung me hard. That was when I believed what she said about them been harmful. Later that day when Mitchell found me lying on the floor. He didn't know what happened but he knew something was not right with me. I was a changed man. I then told Mitchell that I want him to be a member of my pack. He didn't object. He then passed me the cup we got for drinking, me taking the cup with the finger that was cut deeply, my blood fell into the cup unknowingly. Mitchell drank it unknowingly too and I felt it in my bones. I took the cup from him and I saw the traces of my blood. That was how I know that to make anyone part of me I'll do the blood thing and till now, that's how I added more people to my pack.

"Alpha," Mitchell called me.

I jacked back to reality. I don't even realised that I wasn't listening to Mitchell anymore.

"Is everything alright?" He asked.

"I'm fine" I said.

I looked at the ladies talking then I stood up without any words and left.

The rest followed behind me.

"What's wrong?" I heard Jessy asking them.

None of them replied her. They just followed me. As we went, the cook met us by the way.

"Alpha" he bowed.

I don't dim it fit to reply but as I walked pass him, he talked again.

"Dinner is ready Alpha and I don't know if I should set the table or bring it to your room" he said.

I wanted to tell him to bring it to my room but I know that would make the lady following me know that my room is next to hers. I wanted to move her away but later changed my mind which I didn't know why.

"Set the table" I said and left for my study.

I suddenly had a bad mood. This I don't know why. I felt like to scream out loud to release the tension in my body. I want to smash things or break bones. When I got to my study, I use my hand to sweep off everything on my table to the wall. I was so angry. I flunged everything that my hand could reach to the wall. Even the wall knows that something was happening to it. I pieces my table that it couldn't even be repaired again. I know they are all hearing the noise but no one dares to enter.

Whenever I'm angry, none would dare move close to me. After I was done inventing my anger on my poor study, I moved out. I was sweating profusely. Mitchell, Bella his wife, my beta and even Jessy was out there waiting for what is going to happen next. When I came out, they all bowed. Jessy inclusive. I didn't know she was going to bow been that I'm not her alpha.

I looked at them all. I didn't know why they are all here. At least Jessy shouldn't be here.

"Why are you here?" I asked fiercely.

She didn't need to be told that I'm talking to her. She hid behind Gabriel been that she's beside him. She then peeped from Gabriel's back and that scene destroyed my anger. I almost laughed at how an alpha blood is behaving like a child. The cook then approached.

"Alpha, table is set" he said.

"You all should proceed to the hall, I'll join you soon" I said.

I needed to go freshen up because I was sweating profusely and I wanted fresh clothes.

"Yes alpha" they chorused and start to move but Jessy didn't. I remembered she hasn't dined with us before. If I tell her to return to her room, she will see me enter mine because I can't wait for her to go to her room first. This is my territory and I can't be hiding for anyone.

"You are included" I told her.

"Huh" she said flabbergasted.

"I don't repeat myself" I said with an hostile voice.

She ran forward and went to meet Bella who held her hand. She then whispered to her ears.

"The alpha is so mean" she said.

Bella knowing how powerful my hearing can be, looked back to see if I heard but I didn't do as if I was affected. I just walked away.
