Not A Book Heist

They arrived at Dawn Grace Library fifteen minutes short before closing time.

With no appointment.

Keira took a deep, steadying breath. She told herself that Nate was a mafia lord who easily broke into her apartment and cleaned her place, not an average library patron who knew it was mandatory to book an appointment before visiting.

The puppy eyes Nate sent her way only fueled her anger.

"You dragged me to a two hours drive out of town out of the blue without making an appointment first? Are you out of your mind?!"

He held up a hand. "First, I didn't drag you. I offered you a hand to take, but you clearly ignored it."

"No, you don't. Besides, I would never take your hand even if you really offered It to me."

Nate continued as if he didn't hear her. "Then, how should I know that I need to book an appointment first before visiting a library? Isn't it a public service place where people can easily read and borrow books?"
