Bed X and X Breakfest
"Sorry for keeping you two waiting." After entering the lobby of the hotel I was met with an impatient Gon and an unimpressed Killua. Looking around the room, there was no one else in the room beside our group and the hotel staff at the counter.
'Ah, It is quite late in the night already…' while I was busy looking around, Leorio went over to Gona and Killua as they started to discuss something.
"-ou guys? You just suddenly disappeared! We didn't even notice until we were about to get in the elevator!" animatedly waving his arms while talking, Gon began to pester Leorio about our whereabouts.
"Magenta wanted to talk about something with me, It's all resolved now though." hearing my name, I walked on over next to Leorio. Seeing that everyone was here, Killua led all of us to the elevator as we began talking.
"So what were you two geezers talking about anyways?" Turning to look at me with his hands clasped behind his neck, Killua taunted us two with a relatively low-hanging fruit of a tease. Though looking over at Leorio, it seemed to do the trick for him.
'Wow… he looks like he is about to go [Non-descript Power Up.] The fact his teeth aren't shattering after clenching them that hard is a miracle!' turning back to Killua, I decided to not give him the satisfaction of pissing me off. A mistake I made on Zevil island that I wish to not repeat.
"I seem to have forgotten… must be my age kicking in." Shrugging and ignoring him seemed to do the trick after that if his reactions are anything to go by.
"Tch!" quickly darting out the door of the elevator that finally arrived at our floor, Killua went to the direct front of our group. Not deigning to show us his face as he walked with an aggravated gait.
"By the way! You have kept avoiding my question, what do you know about my father?" Oblivious, or perhaps ignoring his friend's sour mood, Gon went straight back to his one-track mindset. Asking for information about his father like I was some sort of mall Santa that he was reading his wish list to.
*sigh* "What I know is pretty easily found out if you have a half a brain to use the resources at your disposal… On second thought, You probably wouldn't ever find out unless told by someone else." giving Gon a short chop on the head, I began considering what I should do. Keeping things like the original story would surely give me an advantage, but refusing to help a good friend is pretty scummy.
'Again, even with my minimal interference things have already started to slowly change haven't they?' deciding to help him out regardless, I enter the hotel room everyone has been staying in for the time being.
"Hey!" whether he was offended by my jab at him or because I was ignoring him I wasn't sure but Gon had a slightly bitter look on his face.
"I'll tell you in the morning… It's nearly midnight already. You have a whole day of arm wrestling ahead of you to pester me for answers, just wait until then." Ending the conversation there, we all start to discuss sleeping arrangements. As it was, Gon and Killua each got a bed and Leorio had the small sofa in the room. And seeing how I was the last one here, I ended up with the floor.
"Not the worst sleeping accommodations I have had…" hanging up my hat and coat in the closet, I decided to retire for the night.
{Next Morning}
"-eh. It's what the old man deserves for sleeping in." Hearing the faint sound of someone talking as I began to wake up, I began to slightly toss and turn. Getting up right now was almost an impossibility due to my predisposition to falling back asleep.
"Eh? I mean…" Hearing what I thought was Gon speaking as well further disturbed my slumber as I began to become more cognizant of my surroundings. Craning my neck up to be met with the faces of my three friends looming over me with smirks on their faces.
"..." staring at them in silence, my brain began to warm up as I started to asses my situation. Taking in the snickers from Leorio and Killua and the nervous smile from Gon and the fact that I was the last one to wake up could mean really only one thing.
'It's like when you have a bunch of friends over for the night… Either the first one asleep or the last to wake up is pranked in some way. Boy does this bring back memories, guess I'll go check up in the mirror to see what they did.' Pulling myself off the ground before making a B-line for the bathroom, to be met with numerous scribbles and insults on my face.
"A classic, but a bit overdone no? I guess I'll have to give you guys an E for Ehfort with this…" turning to look at the doorway, I saw everyone laughing at me. Shaking my head at their antics we made our way down to the hotel's eatery after we were all cleaned up. And as we began eating we talked about our plans for the day.
"To catch you up to speed, we need some cash so Gon can get a copy of Greed Island from the Auction. So yesterday, we made a scene in hopes of baiting the big fish! So if all goes according to plan we will no longer be winning 5000 jenny per game but will be competing in the big leagues!" Wolfing down a stack of pancakes, Leorio was bragging about his 'master plan' to get rich. A plan that was pretty luck based all things considered, but it could work out.
