An X Assasins X Perspective

AN: I wanted to mix things up a bit, so this an alternate pov chapter that takes place at the same time as chapter 80. Oh, I also posted a chapter on time for once.

{P.o.V Killua}

Chasing after Gon, I began to think about the situation I found myself in, and I wasn't exactly enjoying it. This is going against everything ingrained into me for as long as I can remember… Charging headfirst into battle was not something I would foresee myself doing, stacking the deck in every way possible in my favor was second nature yet I was now running into a fight I am outclassed in to either kill targets or save people that aren't really my concern. Yet here I was, all because Gon wanted to help out Kurapika.

As we continued to run around the chaotic scene of the city burning, I continued to shadow Gon as I stared curiously at the glimpses of his face I could spot. It was truly interesting to see his expression, someone who lived in a different world than me and was starting to see the sights I have become accustomed to. He didn't look away at the bodies or the descent into chaos, he didn't run away but instead charged head-first into them in hopes of aiding our shared friend.

"Gon, stop for a second, I think I can hear something down this way!" coming to a stop as I reacted to my heightened sense I peered down the street that was to our left on the intersection. Turning to look at the street sign I mentally logged the name before focusing again on what I could make out after straining my eyes a bit. Though what I saw was somewhat odd in these circumstances, giving me an odd feeling as I began to ponder on the situation.

"What is it?" not taking my eyes off the street, I split my attention to speaking with Gon whose demeanor had changed a bit. It was certainly different, gone was the charismatic and energetic demeanor that had broken the wall between our two worlds. Instead, he had a stoic face with a slight frown as his focus was at an all-time high. Though I could still see that spark in his eyes that I found to be most interesting as we made our way into the street.

"It seems the mafia devolved into inter conflict with some of the men turning on each other… but it is odd that this is happening when they have a shared enemy. No, in no case should this be happening meaning something foul is happening here." Starting to trot towards the street me and Gon shared a look before we used Gyo on our eyes, the advanced application of Nen had been equal parts interesting as it was useful.

"Looks like some sort of wispy aura is emanating around the man who is firing on the others… no it's around the back of his neck. Also, it seems like he is being controlled, as he doesn't have any aura of his own, We need to incapacitate him and find the origin of this Hatsu." coming closer to the scene and using Gyo to enhance my eyesight

I began to relay any details I managed to discern with practiced ease. While Gon and I could fight well enough together instinctively like Magenta mentioned it would still be better to cooperate in a normal manner to cover our bases.

However one thing I noticed that I kept to myself was when I got a good look at the aura around the neck of the puppet, it was pulsing in a systematic manner before every move he made. Meaning by staring at the aura I could hopefully predict any movements made if I deciphered or memorized the aura pulses. Unfortunately, that sort of thing wasn't my forte that sort of thing was in Milluki's area of expertise. Instead, I mostly learned the physical and mental skills related to assassination.

"I will take down the one being controlled while you search for the origin, and when you find whoever it is we can regroup and then take them on." Speeding up a bit at the last stretch, Gon began to dictate our battle plan of all things as we both readied ourselves for combat. Slowly I began to erase my presence while shifting to the sides of the road and trailing behind Gon and focused on searching for any hints or clues while maintaining Gyo in my eyes.

On the other hand, Gon began to surround himself with a thick layer of Ten as blitzed straight through the street. Though his approach was interrupted as he had to dodge occasionally due to the puppet mechanically turning to him before releasing a volley of fire with his machine gun towards him. Though with the puppet's attention on Gon, it allowed me to slip behind him and assess the situation with an advantageous position as I used a destroyed car's mostly intact side mirror to get a good angle while remaining out of sight.

However, looking at the puppet's condition I was surprised, Nen could do a lot but being able to animate what I was pretty sure was a corpse was a new sight. When Magenta said it was an expression of oneself and could be anything they could imagine I was skeptical. But seeing the shredded body filled with bullets holes draining the last drops of blood from its body was somewhat unnerving to me which I found surprising.

Yet, before I could ponder that any further the body fell over on its face even though nothing happened to it. But, that gave me the opportunity to get a close look at the neck, revealing a bat-shaped pin stuck into the neck that was slowly dissipating into aura.

Looking at the corpse for a moment I started to internally debate the cause of the cessation of the Hatsu, whether it was the caster's decision or a condition the corpse met it was no longer being animated.

Quickly moving away from the body which could draw attention to me I slinked away and started looking for any clues as the mafia men started to re-emerge from their cover and Gon looked around in anticipation of something happening.

'!' staring at one of the mob members recoil for a moment before his body began to jerkily move I focused on the pin that landed in his neck. I just got a way to track down the attacker…
