Loosing the temper

"A hatch?"

I saw the same surprised facial expression on Markus's face that I felt was on mine. We were in the art gallery before, and we could clearly see that hatch then, but we didn't. It was hidden from our eyes the last time of our visit here, and it was now pretty clear there were much more secrets than we could imagine.

Markus went closer to me and held me in his hand for me to step out of the hatch. I made a few steps in his direction, while he bent down and tried to open the hatch with his vampire strength. It took him a few seconds to quickly open the old hatch, like it was in use till now. Markus put the hatch to the floor, created a flame on his hand, and put his hand down to the darkness. The dancing flame on his hand showed us the old tunnel with the wooden staircase leading down to the unknown. Markus looked up at me, still holding his flame in the tunnel.

"Going down?"
