"You don't have a chance so why bother trying to get with him." I turn and unexpectedly see Hector. Another fan of Sally's, that girl is really surrounded by dogs.
"Hi Hector, long time no see, I'm doing good, how about you." I answered him sarcastically and even more irritated.
"Are you so jealous of Sally that you have to go after everything she wants?" He says with annoyance.
"If I went for everything she wants, wouldn't I have been after all you guys too. Don't worry I don't want your guys friendship nor anything she wants." I say as I'm unlocking my car. As I open the car door he grabs my door. So I look at him, ready to hit him if I have to. "What are you doing, let go? I want to go home. Or do you like me and can't bear to see me leave." I say with a smirk and inching closer to him. Making him take steps back to avoid me.
"What are you doing!" Sally yells from across the street and immediately runs across to get in between Hector and I. "Aren't you seeing Vincent, are you two timing him." Sally starts accusing me.
"Excuse what did you say?" Is this girl really dumb or did I always think she was but in actuality is she cunning. I don't care. I want to go home. My headache is back and I'm starting to feel nauseous. "I can care less what you guys think I'm going home so Hector let go of my door before I put my fist on your face." I am very angry and might explode soon.
"How could you Luna! Vincent is such a nice guy. He doesn't deserve this." Sally's says with tears in her eyes. Why does she want to cry? She doesn't even know him that well. Before I could say anything, Vincent had grabbed Hector's arm off my door and had me behind him. So I was in between him and my car. I then stare at him and can feel his anger. Why is he so angry?
"I walked away a minute ago and you get attacked immediately it almost seems like you all planned this." He glares at them. He then pushes Hector away making him fall to the ground and turns to me and he looks very worried. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" He asked while looking at me checking if I'm hurt. Making me smile at his thoughtfulness.
"I'm fine if anything you just saved Hector I was about to hit him." I answer him and then I glare at Hector. I was seriously going to hit him.
"Vincent, I hope you aren't interested in Luna. She seems to be interested in Hector." Sally sounds like she's really concerned. If only she knew he didn't like her. Behind Vincent I smile and then get around him to tell Sally.
"Are you interested in him? I thought you liked Jessie? Or did you lie to me?" I interrupt and sound clueless and confused. I guess those rare times I hung out with her I learned some of her tricks.
"What are you talking about? No, I don't like him. I like someone else." She immediately says while blushing. She didn't know but behind her was Jessie.
"You don't like me. So the time we went out was nothing. I even told you it's a date and you agreed. Why did you lie to me?" He says, sounding hurt.
I feel bad for him because he knew my sister and so I know of him and he had a rough past. He's such a sweetheart. He's very good looking too he looks like a typical fuck boy but his personality makes him seem so innocent and approachable. He and I used to talk a lot as he and I shared some similar tragic events in our lives. But out of nowhere he met Sally and he stopped talking to me.
Now I'm sure she's not the old Sally I used to know but someone different. I used to not want to hurt her thinking of how nice she was but I think I'm done with that. He looked at me and then handed me the tulips he was holding. He then glared at Sally but turned to me and said with such sincerity.
"I'm so sorry. I never wanted to stop talking to you but Sally said she would go out with me as long as I didn't talk to you. Please accept my apology. I was going to take these to you, they are for your sister. I was planning to see you later but I just happened to see everyone here." He sounds so heartbroken that I want to tear up, but I suddenly remember where I'm at and hold them back.
"Seriously so you don't like me but her sister. Wow and here I was giving you a chance. How could you?" Sally yelled and ran away making everything seem so dramatic. If Jessie didn't mention my sister I would probably have laughed but I wasn't in the mood. I took the tulips and smiled thinking these were Michelle's favorite flowers. She's going to love them. Jessie then walks away from us. He must be very heartbroken. I'll reach out to him later.
"You always take all the guys Sally likes, don't you ever get tired of doing this." I hear Hector saying next to me. I turn to glare at him but before I can say anything. Vincent grabs me and pulls me behind him.
"Don't you get tired of being used by that girl. Very pathetic if you ask me. Ah and she doesn't even like you since she threw you under the bus just to try and get my attention. Don't worry I'll never like a girl like that so go tell her that oh and that Luna isn't stealing anything from hers and she better leave us alone. So get out of here before you end up at the hospital." At first he didn't sound mad but by the end he sounded really mad. I was shocked by how angry he was. I kind of liked it but I grabbed his arm and smiled at him. Hector was about to walk the direction Sally ran off but before he left.
"Hector, do you remember Michelle?" I ask Hector. He turns around confused and then nods.
"Yeah, she's your older sister. It's still no excuse for Jessie to do that to Sally." He just wants to always stand on her side without knowing the truth.
"Tomorrow will be nine years since Michelle died." I tell him and see him shocked. Vincent then gets in front of Hector and whispers something to him. All I see is Hector with a blank face walking away.
"What did you tell him?" I ask curiously. He doesn't say anything but wipes a tear off my face. He looked so sad, but then I realized he wiped a tear. Since when was I crying? I immediately wipe my eyes off with my cardigan.
"Don't cry." I hear him say so sad, breaking my heart. I then look at him and smile.
"I'm okay, don't worry about me."
"Can we hang out this evening?" Shocking me at the sudden question.
"My friend might come over, maybe another time." I feel bad but I really don't want to hangout with anyone.
"Alright but this time text me." He says his voice sounds so low and attractive.
"Okay I will text you later." I look at him and smile. "Thank you for saving me. You can go to your car now." I say feeling shy and embarrassed that he saw me crying. He then walks in front of my car and says.
"No you leave first, I'll make sure you don't get jumped again." He says while crossing his arms.
"Alright I'll text you later then. Bye." I then get in and as I'm about to drive off we wave to each other goodbye. I drove very slowly to my house thinking of how eventful my morning was. It's barely afternoon now. I get home and change to something more comfortable: baggy sweets and a big tee shirt. Holly messaged me that she was going to come over tomorrow, on Michelle's death anniversary. That's fine, I didn't mind it if she didn't come over but I'm still grateful that she's coming over. I decided to read the book I got yesterday.
Time flew by as I was reading, I looked at the time and realized it was already five in the afternoon. So I decided to go and make myself something to eat. I didn't want to go overboard so I made some chicken with white rice on the side. I put on a scary movie and ate while watching it.
As I was half way with my food I heard someone knocking on my door. I couldn't think of who could be at the door. I pause the movie and go open the door. To my surprise it's Lisa, Vincent and Mark?
"Oh hello what's with this surprise?" I asked confused, since Lisa knows I don't get along with Mark.
"Hopefully we're not intruding." Lisa says worriedly.
"She never has guests anyways." Mark says on the side.
"Last night when I came over she had a friend over. If you want you can wait in the car." Lisa then ignores him. I smile because she's too sweet to be his mom.
"Would you guys like to come in?" I ask them politely.
"I thought you were gonna have a friend over?" Vincent asks almost as if he's teasing me. As they all walk in. I'm kind of annoyed that Mark is coming in but whatever.
"She changed her mind, she's coming over tomorrow." I cover my small lies.
"Luna I thought you might not want to be alone so we decided to come over." Lisa says. As appreciative as I am of her thoughtfulness, today was a day I wanted to be alone but I guess I can have company.
"Thank you Lisa but you know me I wouldn't have minded. I can always keep myself busy." I say smiling. "Would you guys want anything to drink?" I offer them since they are going to be here for a while.
"What do you have to offer?" Vincent asks with such a beautiful smile. I then snap out of it. My ears feel like they're burning.
"I have lemonade, mango juice, lime soda, coke and I can make tea. I also have alcohol if you guys want to drink." I say thinking if I even have enough of anything for them.
"Since when do you drink?" Mark asks
"A while now." I answer him short so he knows I don't like him.
"What type of alcohol?" Lisa asks, surprising me since I've never seen her drink.
"I have a lot of types. What type of flavor do you want?" I ask her
"I want anything as long as it's pretty." Lisa says excitedly.
"That's asking too much, just kidding." I smile and giggle before turning to the guys. "Do you guys want some too?" I ask Vincent and Mark.
"What type of alcohol do you have?" Vincent asks
"Umm I have Rum, Whiskey, Liquor, Gin , Tequila and Vodka." I am a little embarrassed since saying out loud makes me sound like an alcoholic.
"That's a huge variety." Vincent says with a big smile. "Give me whichever you think would suit me."
"Ummm okay. How about you Mark?" I ask as I'm thinking of what to get Vincent.
"Give me something sweet." He says politely. Which is weird. I'm not used to that.
So I head to the kitchen and make Lisa her drink which is gin mixed with lime soda, the gin is dark blue so mixed with the soda it turns to a very pretty light purple drink. For the guys I just gave them both Rum with coke. I give them their drinks.
"This is so pretty, is it strong?" Lisa asks so excitedly.
"No, I didn't put that much alcohol on any of them." I hear my phone ding. I got a message. So I go and get my phone and I see I have two messages one from Jessie and another from Sally. I wonder what they want?
