We both look at each other before I grab the phone from Holly. I think it's a good idea to answer but before I can answer it the call ended. I decided to call back but it immediately went to voicemail. Whatever she's the one who called me first so I hang up before the machine records me.
"She didn't answer." I say to Holly. We both then shrug it off.
"Okay whatever just ignore her for today let's not focus on her today she isn't going to ruin your day. We are going hiking so get some tennis shoes on right now." She says merrily.
"Hiking? What the heck, why so suddenly?" I ask confused, she hates hiking, all the bugs and sweat are not things she likes.
"Yes, so go get ready. Don't worry, the trail we are going to use isn't far from here seriously, like thirty minutes away." She says to assure me that we won't be long.
"Are you sure we agreed to hangout with Jessie for lunch?" As I said that I remembered Jessie never said a time for lunch so I quickly messaged him and asked him what time he wanted to hangout.
"Seriously just get ready, we'll be back within two hours." Holly says as she pushes me up the stairs. I sigh and head upstairs and put on a baggy shirt, leggings and tennis shoes. It's only nine in the morning so I guess we have time for this.
While I was putting on my shoes Jessie messaged me, 'Let me know when you guys want to hang out I don't mind the time I'm not busy today.'
So I messaged back, 'let's hangout at 2pm, idk where tho so you can pick the place.' I see Holly ready with some sweats and a tank top by the door. We go and get in her car since she doesn't want me to do anything today. The whole way to the trail we talked about movies and concerts we would like to go.
"Alright let's go and enjoy the fresh air." Holly says satisfied while getting out of the car and looking around.
The whole way up there we talked about random things. When we finally reached the top we enjoyed the view. By the time we came down the trail we were so tired and sweaty that we decided to go back to my place to shower and then meet up with Jessie. Holly ended up choosing a nice pasta restaurant for us to have lunch. As we get out of the car and head out to the restaurant I see from a distance Sally coming forward to us. Holly and I stare at each other, keep walking forward and brace for what might come. But all she does is glares at us and walks past us so we confusedly keep walking and pay no attention to her. Jessie meets us inside and we immediately get seated.
"So I want to apologize. I never meant to ignore you. I just thought Sally really liked me and I wanted it to really work out with her but who knew she's out here trying to get with everyone." He says while looking down at the table.
"It's alright I'm so used to being ghosted. Just kidding but really it's alright." I say smiling to assure him that it really is alright. If I can survive without my sister who was the world to me, trust me I can live without people who I didn't grow up with. I think to myself.
"That's not something you should get used to." Jessie says.
"She's the one who ghosts people. She is so bad with texting back I sometimes feel like she ignores me and I'm her ride or die. So imagine with people she isn't too close to." Holly says very playfully.
The server comes with the food we ordered and we enjoy the next hour eating and talking about my whole month off. We then drive to the cemetery to pay respects to Michelle and while there we hangout and talk about our fond memories of her.
"Thank you for letting me accompany you guys." Jessie says smiling.
"No problem, it was fun." I say smiling back at him.
"Alright well I should go, I have work in an hour." Jessie says while looking at his phone.
"It was very fun hanging out with you. Next time we have anything planned we'll surely invite you." Holly says very enthusiastically. We then watch him drive off. "Let's go to your place and watch movies with wine." Holly says happily while holding my arm and leading me to my car.
"Sure but first we should go and get some snacks cause I'm out of snacks and I know you're going to want some finger food." I say getting in the car.
I got a message from Julie that there were two cars outside my place to be careful when getting home. We took our time going to the store and buying snacks since we weren't expecting anyone but after getting that call we were both confused as to who would be there. As I was pulling in my driveway I saw the two suspicious looking cars and I immediately got a headache when I saw Sally getting out of one but I still didn't know who was in the other one maybe they weren't for me maybe it was just a random car parked there.
"Let's just ignore her and just go inside." Holly says while I'm parking inside.
"Yea I'm not in the mood today. Let's go." I say as I turn off the car. We get out and hear her yelling my name sounding drunk.
"Luna you're such a bitch, I hate you!" She kept repeating this over and over so I didn't really care and just let her be. "Holly you're stupid you should just leave her side before you die like Michelle." I turned around in shock and looked her in the eyes mad to think she used to be my friend.
"Don't cross the line Sally there is only so much I will deal with. Unless you want to get arrested stay and be stupid or go home before I call the cops." I say angrily trying to hold in all my anger and my urge to go and hit her.
"Don't listen to her Luna. She's drunk." Hollys says and helps me with the bags so I can unlock the door. We then hear a car door opening and Sally yelling.
"Mark! Luna is being so mean she is even threatening me to call the cops just because I want to talk to her." Sally then runs to Mark hugging him and starts crying looking so pitiful. I couldn't help but roll my eyes and start unlocking my door.
"Sally I called Hector he should be here soon you should go home." Mark says with less care on his tone, which surprised me but not enough to have me turn around and look. I walk in the house and see Holly still outside.
"I'm not talking to you Sally but do you two want to join us?" I hear Holly saying. Which confuses me cause I didn't see anyone but could assume that Vincent was probably with Mark. So much is going on that I don't even know how to feel right now. So I set everything on the table and sat on the chair tired of everything. I heard the door move so I looked up and saw Vincent walking in. He then walked towards me and looked me up and down.
"You don't look okay did anything else happen?" He says and makes me smile just thinking how I don't have many people around but I do have good ones.
"I'm fine, just tired." I say smiling and getting up to get the snacks and drinks ready. Holly and Mark come in together laughing.
"I don't understand her way of thinking, how does she expect people to like her when all she does is talk shit. I kind of feel bad for Hector…just a little." Holly says to Mark while closing the door.
"Honestly I don't know how she had me wrapped in her fingers when she is like that. I have no idea why I always thought she was a saint." Mark says. To think a couple days ago Mark and I hated…no more like Mark hated me back then and now he's cool with me and getting along with Holly.
"So what are the plans for tonight?" Vincent says as he turns around.
