My brows drew together as she made the declaration. "What do you mean by aunty?" I asked.

"It means exactly what I just said. I am your mother's younger sister." She replied.

My mother was particularly cagey about her family; she never talked about them or even allowed them to cross her mind. I never bothered her about it; I always let her be because I felt that if there were anything worth knowing, it would come out in its own time.

I looked into Aurora's mother's eyes and saw a flicker of resemblance in them. But the story was still too crazy for me to believe.

"You mean that you are my cousin?" I turned to Aurora. Aurora responded by placing her hands in the air. "I am as surprised as you are. I asked them to send for her when you woke up so that she would confirm." Then, she scratched the back of her hair and looked away. "I guess that it is confirmed now."
