Ch. 31 Aria's Domain Gene

The next day, Aria woke up feeling extremely tired, but her heart felt full.

Even though she was in the same room with the werewolves, she could befriend Iona and had new friends like Demi and Fisher.

They were charming human girls, and all three had exchanged contact numbers. But… strangely, she believed she had befriended four girls instead of three. She remembered one more girl was standing with Demi and Fisher, yet she couldn't remember it.

Aria even asked Demi and Fisher about their friends, but they told her they were alone when they met her.

Very weird. Aria was sure a third girl was among them, but she didn't force her two new friends to remember her. She didn't want to be seen as strange by her two new friends, so she buried her curiosity.

But now that she had woken up from her deep sleep, the figure of a woman in her memory was more and more visible.

She remembered the woman's hair was black with a hint of dark red at the end of the lock. Aria closed her eyes to continue digging through her memories as if she was digging the ground for treasure hunting.

Unknowingly, the more she tried to dig up her locked memories, the seals inside her body cracked even more.

Instead of finding the face of the girl she was looking for, she saw the figure of a small child being carried by a towering man.

The two of them were standing on the top of a hill to enjoy the sunset. The little girl leaned her head on the man's shoulder in a sweet manner by wrapping her arms around the man's neck.

Aria wondered why she felt familiar with those two people? Wasn't that little girl a bit like her?

The little girl's hair color was strawberry blond, with brown eyes full of wonder.

If that little child was her childhood self, then… who was that man?

As if she could hear her question, the little girl raised her head and looked at the mouth of the man holding her.

"What is it, my angel?" asked the man gently as if the little girl was his most beloved treasure.

What is their relationship?

"Papa, where are your fangs?" hearing the little girl's question, Aria's pair of brown eyes widened.

Pa... Papa?!

Her heart was beating fast because it was the first time she had had the chance to see her parents' faces. Aria raised her legs to run over, but she couldn't control her own feet.

Her body muscles wouldn't listen to her brain, and Aria could only stand there silently… not too far, yet not too close from the father-daughter's position.

Aria even wanted to call him, but she couldn't find her voice as if she had been mute since she was born.

What happened to her?

"I hid it." Aria could hear the man's voice once again.

Aria wished she could approach them to see the face of the man… her father. If she had taken a glimpse of his face, she might recall something.

"Why?" asked the little girl with a full of curiosity tone.

"Aren't you afraid?"

The little girl shook her head. "I like your fang, papa. Will I have it someday?"

The gentle smile on the father's lips vanished as soon as he heard his little angel's question.

"No. Don't ever wish to have one."

"Why?"

"Just be yourself, angel. You are our angel, and I'll make sure you will always be. Stay with me and your mom, angel. You are our life purpose."

Aria could see the father hugging the little girl tightly as if afraid of losing her. The girl's head leaned back on the father's shoulder, and that's when the girl's eyes looked straight into her eyes, making Aria open her eyes instantly.

Aria got up from her lying position with a gasping breath, and one hand clutched her chest.

It happened again. Aria felt suffocated and couldn't breathe. She felt her whole body in a lake of fire as if she were in hell. She felt her room temperature rise drastically like she was in an oven.

She didn't know her chocolate-like eyes flickered rapidly from red into her normal ones. Aria didn't know that there was a great conflict inside her body between the seal of the fae spell and her domain gene trying to get out.

'Save me!' she tried to voice her scream, but nothing could come out. Aria could only scream in her mind. 'Someone, please, save me!'

As if someone had heard her desperate pleading, a light of unknown origin shot out of Aria's body and expanded to envelop the girl's entire body in pain.

The immense pain she felt gradually faded, and the scorching heat also began to subside.

Aria slumped limply on the bed with a numb brain that couldn't think. She felt unbelievably tired today even though she hadn't done anything.

She felt something brush her hair, making her eyelids feel heavy. She had just woken up, but now she felt like going back to sleep, which she did.

Aria didn't know how long she had been asleep, but she woke up when she heard a knock on her bedroom door. She couldn't even remember the mysterious woman who had come with her two new friends. Neither did she recall the father-daughter interaction as if she had never seen it all before.

Aria rose to her feet with lazy movements and opened her bedroom door only to see a fatherly smile from Rousell.

"Good morning, Miss Aria."

"Morning, Rousell. Oh, my gosh! I'm late, aren't I? What time is it?"

"No, no, no. No worries. I've asked another maid to do your job. I understand you were exhausted from yesterday's party, so I purposely let you sleep a little longer."

"You are the best!" Aria giggled happily at the man's understanding. "What's that?" Aria was attracted to the glass of strawberry milk on the tray that Rousell was holding.

"It's for you. Your favorite strawberry milkshake."

Aria squealed in delight as she took the drink without asking permission and immediately gulped it down.

"Miss, slow down. No one would steal it from you."

Aria gave an adorable chuckle while wiping her wet upper lip. "I'm so thirsty. I don't know why my throat felt dry. Thanks, anyway. I'll get ready now."

Rousell smiled politely and let the girl get ready to do her job for the day. But his smile disappeared when he noticed that the seal inside her body didn't return even after Aria gulped down the pill.

Not to mention, he felt a powerful vampire aura in Aria's room.

Did Aria manage to break the seal inside her body and become a vampire?

No. Impossible. If that girl turned into a vampire, Aria would want to drink blood instead of milk.

'I don't know why my throat felt dry.'

Could it be…
