Ch. 43 Smells Like A Rotten Fish

Lyod walked over to Letti to comfort the girl. She was his dear friend and childhood sweetheart, after all. Seeing the girl disappointed and angry with him made Lyod's heartache.

"Letti,"

"No. Don't touch me." Letti avoided Lyod's touch when the Alpha was about to grab her hand. "You know what? Thanks for letting me know, and I hope you won't regret it."

Lyod was about to speak further, but the deep voice in his head made him swallow whatever he wanted to say.

'Alpha, it's time.'

Lyod sighed in resignation. "I have to go now. The hunting tradition is about to begin."

"..." Letti was silent and kept her distance from him.

"I know I've been selfish, but I wish we could be friends. You are the best female friend I've ever had. But, if you don't want to, that's fine." Lyod stepped back while looking sadly at Letti. "See you tonight?"

"Do I have another choice?"
