Jerome (Part 21): Home (1)

"I almost succeeded that time. Who would have thought your reaction was so snappy and managed to hide in the domain?" The Flamen Head shook his head sadly. Even though his plan failed and he hated the Upper Realm for putting a shackle curse on his four limbs, the look in his eyes towards Jerome was still as endearing as ever, like a father looking at his beloved son.

"Don't worry, I won't bother you anymore." The Flamen Head raised both hands, and four shining golden chains appeared and shackled his hands and feet. "These chains curb my godly powers, so I'm not much different from other vampire lords. I'm still powerful, but not as invincible as I used to be." The cluster of stars that surrounded him was still there, and with just one stab, it would become a poison that eroded his heart and bones for the rest of his life.

"I don't care about those chains. Tell me, what happened to that kid?"
