Opening her eyes, she looked to see a ceiling with an unfamiliar color and felt a headache that made her feel quite nauseous.
It was almost like her body's energy had left her, and there was only the sensation of fatigue from whatever happened.
She couldn't find any strength in her fingers.
Her heavy eyes lids searched around the white ceiling of this large room that she had never been in before.
Even with a thick blanket wrapped around her body, she still feels quite cold despite the warm temperature in the room.
Feeling the thirst in her throat for water, she started sitting up from the bed when she noticed the face of an unfamiliar man in the room.
"You woke up," he asked with a soothing, gentle voice.
At first, there came a slight sense of cautiousness about finding herself in this room with another person upon waking up.
The stranger had an honest concern in his dark brown eyes, which made her feel comfortable as he stood up from his seat on the desk across the room.
There was a sense of confidence in his steps, wearing a long-sleeved slim-fit business shirt and denim jeans.
Then the memories of what happened during that night caught up with her as images flashed through her mind.
She remembered those creepy guys with their breath stinking alcohol and approaching her aggressively.
The thought of that night made her heartbeat with an urgent desire to escape from them as they pushed her against the wall of the alley and cornered her without a way out.
She remembered those same eyes filled with concern for her safety that night just before she couldn't stand the fatigue anymore and fainted in his arms.
Seeing those eyes looking down in retrospective remembrance, Jon went into the kitchen to fill up a glass bottle with warm water for her.
Coming out with a glass of water filled to the brim, he came to sit by her bedside while placing one of the white pillows from the bed straight behind her back for her to rest upon.
She still doesn't seem to be catching her sense yet, so he helped place the glass into her hand.
She didn't say anything except to feel the warm temperature of the cup with both of her hands to hold it tight before drinking a small sip of the water.
She looked at him directly in the eyes as though trying to get an idea of who he was before looking at the room she was in.
"Here, let me help you," seeing that she wanted to investigate the place, Jon helped her remove the heavy blanket covering her body to stand up from the bed.
The light from the city shining through the large windows shows a luxurious open view of the night below the building.
Suddenly she stopped as though a thought sprung into her mind of something important, "Wait, did you-"
Before she could finish asking her question, she saw Jon is pointing with the tip of his finger to her black case sitting carefully placed on the orange sofa right beside one of the spots in the living room.
She walked with a little more speed to her pace as her eyes focused on the rectangular case close by.
She opens up the zippers of the rectangular black case to reveal a beautifully crafted violin nestled inside the confine of the box.
Jon didn't open it up yesterday, but he guessed it was probably a stringed instrument inside the case.
It was rectangular while without much weight to it.
There was also a different light smell of rosin that belonged to what people used for the bow of these instruments.
He could not forget these things since he played the violin in his early teens before dropping it out of disinterest.
Breathing a sigh of relief, the girl turned her soft eyes towards Jon with a smile, "Thank you. This is important to me."
She seemed to have relaxed her guardedness around him and turned her eyes upon the instrument again, and glided her long fingers on the wooden edge with remembrance.
Jon stands next to her watching her through the corner of her eyes while pretending to be looking out through the windows that show the view outside.
From his experience with fitting in with others, he learned that certain people you just met would feel more comfortable when you talk to them with minimum direct eye contact in this kind of situation.
Yesterday after putting her tucked into the bed of the penthouse room of this apartment, Death told him that this girl was the chosen one that he would be helping to fulfill an inner wish.
Instead of telling him the details of her background and other information he wanted to know, Death 'logged out' of the conversation when he asked.
There was only radio silence when he tried to probe those questions.
In the end, Death told him that he would need to find out all of the necessary information himself for this task.
As for how he got this luxurious penthouse at one of the most expensive apartments in the whole city, it is because this was a 'gift' from the System.
The System would provide him with an infinite source of money, making him the richest man on this planet.
It also includes other needed amenities like an identification card, a phone, and a black card from a prominent bank to make it easier for Jon to adapt to this society.
He was slightly worried at the beginning about where he would take this strange girl in the middle of the cold night without money.
After arriving inside the unbelievably decorated penthouse complimented with everything he could ever wish for in his wildest dreams, he started researching this world from the books the System had stored inside.
The System had planned for his books about the entire history of this foreign place.
Despite the seeming similarities of this planet, he was surprised to discover that many things didn't exist on this parallel planet.
Many architectural monuments and famous places still exist, except the renowned musical compositions and other creative works on his original planet didn't belong here.
There weren't any Mozart, Beethoven, and other famous musical composers in this planet's history.
