Finishing recollecting the entire story to Jeanette, she looked up to see that she had her starkly shocked expression with jaws to the ground.
Suppressing a laugh seeing that her friend was being quiet, something that she is not used to seeing, "What's wrong?"
"You're joking, right!?" Jeanette shot up from her chair where she was sitting and hit the table with her hand, "He beat up two thugs in the middle of the street just as you were about to get done into?! Like the friendly neighborhood spiderman swooping in to save the scene?!"
Samantha knitted her eyebrow with a weird expression on her face, hearing this way of interpretation, "Well, yeah...Maybe not like Spiderman, more like Batman, you know, cause he was--"
"A penthouse in the middle of the city, and he cooked for you?"
Samantha didn't know whether to answer or not, and she only saw the heart signs that seemed to be surfacing in her best friend's eyes.
For the longest time they had known each other in middle school, her friend was always an incurable romantic.
When Jeanette was not busy working, she would be going through new boyfriends like going through clothes in the fashion department, or else she would be watching the latest romantic drama.
She always wondered how they became friends in the first place; Jeanette initially struck up a conversation with her when they were sharing the same locker in middle school.
Even though they were opposites, for the most part, she liked how Jeanette was always this talkative and sparking up some exciting things in her life.
When her family was undergoing some problems, Jeanette helped bring her out of her shadows, and she would take her to check out all these exciting food around town to cheer her up.
Despite her mischievous demeanor, Samantha knows that she has the kindest heart out of all the friends that she has met throughout her life.
Finally, when Jeanette calmed down, she put her hand on Samantha's shoulder, bringing her out of her memories.
Jeanette told her with a warm voice, "Alright, I won't be pushing you too hard. But know that if you don't go through with this, I won't hesitate to take your place."
Samantha knew that she was only joking when she said that, so she gave her a meaningful smile to indicate that she understood her goodwill.
Standing up from her seat, she sees Jeanette going through her backpack and taking out a couple of notebooks, and putting them in front of her on the table.
It has the labels of the different classes on them to indicate the different classes these notes were taken from.
"I knew you would be back eventually," Jeanette said warmly as she rustled through her hair about to get into the bedroom, "those are the homework and notes."
Finding her heart a little warmed from the intense action of her friend, she opens up the notebooks to take a look at the detailed notes that Jeanette had taken down for her.
"Thank you," Samantha says to her, not too loud and audible enough that Jeanette could hear.
Hearing her appreciation, Jeanette didn't say anything back as she entered her bedroom but smiled slightly.
The days slowly rolled by ever since the day that Samantha had last seen Jon that morning before he dropped her off at her best friend's apartment.
During this time, she put herself back into her studies and music class with more dedication.
Sometimes when she would be looking out to the night, viewing the city lights, she would think back to that gentle smile in her memories.
Holding onto the card in her hands as though she is about to muster the courage to give him a call.
Sometimes her friend Jeanette would walk to see her in that dreamy, reflective mood and shake her head in disappointment without saying anything further.
Slowly the days have moved by, and it had become more than a week since she last saw him, but she still couldn't help but think of him and those focused eyes.
One day as she was walking off the campus in the afternoon after the classes for the day had been completed, she saw the students on the campus around her all seem to be looking at something in the direction in front of her.
She doesn't usually notice what is in front of her when she walks because she has her head down and looks at the floor with many thoughts going on in her mind.
She sees a few of the students gathering near a blue-colored sports car.
The closer she walks, the more her heart beats with anticipation.
"Hey dude, isn't that like the Ferrari Spider?"
"I heard it costs around $500,000 for that thing!"
"No way!! Why is somebody like this doing on our campus?"
When she finally comes within close distance, she sees a familiar face looking with focused eyes in her direction.
He sees Jon leaning against the sportscar, wearing a black slim-fit suit jacket with a white shirt underneath, complimented with black pants to match the color of the coat.
Seeing her in front of him, she sees Jon giving her a confident smile on that sculpted face.
Instantly she could hear the chatters of the girls around her charmed by this stranger.
When combined with that exuberating certainty in his eyes, it is undeniable that this attraction seems to be able to fight through anything with pure will.
At that moment, Jon became the center of attention for everybody around her.
The hero of the guys in awe at the sportscar and the keeper for the girls attracted to that exuding confidence and fashionable clothing.
She sees him standing up from his leaning position on the blue Ferrari Spider and slowly taking one step at a time, closer and closer until he is standing at an arm's distance towards her.
Her heart beats wildly without saying anything as the gap between closes with every single step he takes.
