The eight of us had walked around the little village taking in the sights and visiting the boutiques. It was a really nice place to live. We stopped outside the town hall and looked to the large park.
"We hold a few open-air events here and have public meetings." Jenny said as she watched the twins running crazy. "We're hosting the fool moon dance this weekend for the single wolves to attend and hopefully find their mates." I nodded and watched as a large tent was raised in the town park.
"Sounds nice." Oscar frowned.
"Who's that?" we watched as a bright red convenable sped by. Mathew sighed as he hugged Jenny, his hands sliding to her lower abdomen.
"Lisa. She's been here since this afternoon acting all beat up. She and the Alpha were out getting her nails fixed and having a meal." Almost instantly I saw the change in the boys as I pulled my eyes away from Mathew and Jenny.
"Don't know why she comes here." Kaden said and Oscar chuckled.
"She's your fathers girlfriend right?" They nodded. "Well more than likely she's here to see him and you guys." Mathew nodded.
"I guess your dad didn't tell you she was coming for two weeks?" The boys seemed horrified.
'Seems like they don't like her' I heard Oscar in my head.
'That's an understatement…' Jenny gave a non-comital wave.
"We should start heading back to the pack house. Jeff is looking after the girls… I know he's had kids but…" Mathew laughed.
"It's Jeff. Enough said." She looked to the boys.
"You two will be coming with us." They sighed and reluctantly followed as we went back towards the car.
A little way along the road Mathew pulled over. We were at the intersection to the Red Spring cabins. He smiled and looked back.
"Are you sure you don't want a lift to your doorstep?" I jumped out the car and turned. It had been a squeeze fitting three adults in the back, while the twins and Dean had been sent to the boot.
"No this is good. Gives me a chance to stretch my legs and Oscar a chance to get to see more of life outside the city." He nodded and watched as Bella opened the boot and Dean slipped out.
Once we were all set Mathew waved as he pulled away. Oscar came around and we headed off down the turn to Red springs. The walk back to the Cabin was easy as the road was flat and paved. Around us for the first half of the walk was thick trees that cased dapping light in the growing evening light. It didn't take us too long to emerge from the woods and out where the trees fell away and the shimmering waters of the lake glittered up at us.
I stole a peek at Bella and Oscar as they marveled in the scenery. It was a very different feeling from the city and had even taken my breath away the first time I was out here. It still did. Something inside me felt at ease, almost like I was meant to be here.
However, the closer to the cabin we got the more the uncomfortable feeling settled over us. It was like lambs to the slaughter. Now it was just the four of us I could feel the silence over us and saw the looks Bella and Dean were beginning to exchange.
"Let's order pizza and have a hot tub party." I said before anyone could say something annoying. Oscar grinned.
"Sounds like my kind of night." We laughed and I twisted my leg to give him a kick to his but. Oscar yelped as I sped away.
"Last one backs a rotten egg!" I called and ran delightedly towards the house the pup in my head yipping with excitement. Oscar chased after me followed by Bella and finally Dean.
I made it to the house first and smirked as Oscar grabbed me and tossed me around in the air. As he put me down I opened the door and we fell inside. Dean and Bella entered at the same time and I giggled.
"Dean do you have the number for the Pizza shop?" He nodded. "Good, let's order and watch a movie until the food arrives." As Dean ordered I flicked through the channels on the tv until I found a movie about to start and grinned. I could hear everyone placing their orders.
"What did you find to watch?" Bella said sitting down on the sofa.
"Wreck-it Ralph…" she smirked.
"I didn't think you liked that kind of movie?" I shrugged.
"I like all movies." I hopped next to her. "Although I'd prefer gore, or horror." She nodded.
"That sounds more like you." I felt Oscar sit next to me placing his arm around my shoulder as he nuzzled into my neck.
"I like comedy's and things with fast cars." Dean hung up the phone and sat next to Bella as he shot Oscar a glare.
"Food has been ordered and will be here in about an hour." He glanced to me then pulled Bella close to him.
'What doing?'
'Watching a movie' the pup wagged it's tail.
'Colours...' I frowned and watched as the movie played on.
The door rang and Oscar got up to get the pizza. He brought the boxes over and handed them out after checking what was inside. I took my box and munched on a slice offering a bite to Oscar and saw him shudder.
"Hell no. you can keep that to yourself." I grinned and chomped down the rest of the slice. I heard the pup snuffling in my head.
'What this?'
'Pizza, now watch the movie'
'Pizza...' I nodded and frowned.
'Are you a boy or a girl?' the pup frowned.
'Me.' I heard Oscar snickering as he eavesdropped on the pup and I.
'I'm a boy and Danica's a girl.' The pup tilted it's head.
'What difference?' Oscar chuckled as he stuffed pizza into his mouth then shot a glance back at Dean.
'You'll see later.' I felt the tail wag frantically. I gave my eyes a roll.
'What should I call you?'
'Call?'
'My name is Danica. This is Oscar, Bella and Dean. Do you have a name?' the pup thought for a moment.
'No.' I nodded as I took down another slice of pizza.
The movie was coming to an end and the pup was glued to the screen. I heard Bella filling the drinks holders and the others stuffing drinks into the ice.
"You really seem to be enjoying that movie." Bella said and sat to watch the last few minutes with me her leg brushing against my back.
"I forgot how much I like this movie."
'Ralph.'
'What?' I blinked
'Me Ralph.' I felt Ralph rolling around in my head.
'Ok…' I sighed.
Dean's POV
I looked around as Bella went back inside and closed over the doors. Oscar shoved a few more beers into the holders then began to strip down.
"Look…" he shot me a glance.
"You better not be trying to give me the talk about how to look after her." He snarled and I shook my head.
"No, it was more… a heads up." Oscar frowned and placed his hands to his hips.
"Oh?" I pulled my shirt off.
"There's no way I am strong enough to reject the mate bond…" I knew I was defeated the moment Bella had touched me. "but you should know… the Alpha. He apparently gets the mate bond sparks from Lisa and Danica. If Mathew and the rest of the pack have anything to do with it… they'll want him to choose Danica and dich Lisa." I could see his eyes narrow.
"Why tell me this?" I shrugged.
"I'd hate to see Danica hurt if you end up crossing the Alpha." Oscar nodded as he thought about this for a moment and his eyes seemed to darken. With a snort he jumped into the hot tub and chose a spot in the deepest part of the tub.
"You do know she's a little upset that you were Bella's mate." I looked up and smiled sadly.
"Really?" He nodded and tied his dreads up.
"She may not show it but it's true." He sighed. "Although she's happy for the two of you." He gave me a sharp look that made my skin crawl. "She's given you two her blessing so don't fuck it up." I nodded and slipped into the tub. Oscar seemed to relax slightly as he cracked open a beer.
Danica's POV
The end credits rolled over the screen and Bella helped me up from the floor. We walked to the hot tub to see Dean and Oscar already in the water beer in hand.
"What took you?" Oscar grinned as he tossed an empty can to the bin. "Did Ralph like the movie that much?" Dean frowned then his attention was drawn to Bella as she pulled her top off and flicked her hair back. I gave Oscar a smirk and let my trousers fall.
'You heard the name the pup chose?' He nodded and cracked another beer as I stepped into the water tossing my t-shirt and bra away and sinking next to him. I rested my head against the pillow as I tied my hair up into a messy bun.
Bella jumped in beside me completely naked. I grabbed two beers from the drinks coolers and handed her one. She cracked it open then let out a sigh.
"It's nice out here." I grinned as I took a gulp at my beer.
"City girl turning country?" She laughed.
"Not quite. I have a career in the city." I could see the worry on Dean's face.
"No need to rush anything." I felt a hand begin to stroke up my leg. "You two just take your time and things will happen when they happen." Dean shuddered and a little gasp left his lips. I could see the smirk on Bella's face as she took another drink from her can.
