I was driving myself insane. After we got to the hospital, the doctors rushed her into surgery. I had to look away from her at one point. She had been shot four times. Once on her arm, one in her leg, in her shoulder, and another near her heart. It was the bullet near her heart we were all worried about. There was no exit wound, which meant the bullet was still inside her. Not only that but because of using the AED, there was a good chance the bullet may have shifted, causing her internal bleeding. The medical team had managed to revive her. However, she hadn't actually woken up yet. So I began to wonder if she ever would.

I took the seat next to her in the ambulance and held her hand the entire time. I kissed the back of her hand, hoping she would come back to me.
