“You are so overthinking this.” Luna said.
I protested. “No, I’m not! I’m just looking for Maxx, what’s so wrong with that?”
“You don’t physically look, though. It isn’t like he’s here in the trees. We have to smell for him more than use our eyes. Plus, he isn’t inside of my domain, AJ!”
“Well, have you looked?”
“Have I—Are you dumb!? No, you know what, I won’t even apologize for that one. It’s my domain, AJ, not yours. You’d think I would know how it works.”
“Well, I found Maxx before, didn’t I?”
That sure got her to shut up. Not to say that I actively wanted my wolf to shut up. Far from it! We were working together. It’s just that, she was better at sniffing for things than I was. Besides, I was tired of looking at trees, bushes, and more trees.
“Hey, you’re not the one who was stranded here for two weeks.”
“Look,” I said. “I’m sorry about that! How many times can I apologize for that?”
