Chapter 44: You Know, I Did Not See This One Coming

The night came more quickly than I’d expected. Time passed pretty quickly what with the escape planning I’d been trying to do.

Only, I still couldn’t make heads or tails of the infection inside my wolf’s domain. I needed AJ to help me out with it. If anyone could figure it out, it’d be him. Only, I had no way of contacting him. And with Storm watching my every move, it didn’t seem likely that I’d get the chance to.

Where on earth was he taking me? And, arguably more importantly, why was he taking me anywhere at all?

There was something sensitive Storm wanted to discuss. Clearly. I could see him chewing on his words, even as he lead me to the outskirts of our village. There was little more than farmland this far out, followed by a decent amount of nothing. Then, depending on which direction you headed, you’d run into either the immediate forest line below or the sharp mountain above.
