The days that passed after our roundtable meeting seemed strange, stranger than attending a university filled with magical beings. 


Alex had been missing in action for the most part. He would come and see me outside the Fulminous building just before my morning Sorcery class and then rush off to do whatever errand he needed to run.


“I’m so sorry that is the only time that we’ve been together for the past couple of days; I’ve just been really swamped with my duties and with finding the ‘You Know What,’” he explained early one morning.


He looked incredibly tired, clearly he was not getting enough sleep doing whatever mystery task he was busy with.


“Are you sure you don’t want me to help?” I asked him, greatly concerned for him. “You look like you’ve been awake for days.”
