Chapter 63: Hostage

Loren POV

The next morning we loaded our supplies into the car and our hostage into the trunk. Riley realized that his diluted wolfsbane mixture was not as diluted as he had initially thought, meaning that Delilah would most likely be out for another few hours.

Frankly, I was relieved as I preferred not to interact with the psycho werewolf cheerleader for as long as possible.

Penn, however, took the opportunity to insult Riley for his mistake continuously. If the talking necklace really was a copy of his subconscious, Riley was in desperate need of some therapy sessions.

We got in the car and began our journey in search of a new safe place for us to prepare and train.

Jamaia drove while Riley sat in the passenger’s seat, mixing and grinding together various herbs and ingredients he had found in Lilith’s cabin.

I sat in the back seat and allowed myself to doze off after a few minutes of being on the road.

“Wake up, Lorey-Bear,” Jam said, using Riley’s nickname for me.
