Chapter 28: But Not For Very Long

The Inquisition lurched through cosmic barriers of Warpspace and something below deck exploded as the ship came barreling to a stop in the middle of the vast, black emptiness of space. The crew on the bridge quickly began running diagnostics and trying to power the ship back up but the Inquisition appeared to be dead in the water.

“WE JUST FIXED THIS TIN CAN!” Mr. Bedlam bellowed. The room stood still for a moment, but only moment, before everyone got back to work trying to figure out what happened. Athena looked at Mr. Bedlam with worry.

Jefferson. Something is coming.

Mr. Bedlam whistled, a sound that pierced the air and grabbed the attention of everyone in a second, “Forget about getting the core online. Get the defenses up and ready the weapons. This is an attack. Do we have any maneuverability?”
