The explosion from Genevieve’s attack left the dwelling crumbling to dust. A mixture of smoke and sand rose up into the air, blinding Hiytax. He fumbled through what remained of the building, trying to find Aliorah as he did so. He thought he saw a glimpse of someone off to his right and decided to gamble on whether it was Aliorah or one of the two Edenytes currently trying to murder them. Suddenly, Hiytax felt a strong grip on his arm, pulling him away from the figure lying in the rubble.
A voice he recognized as Genevieve’s abruptly stated, “That’s not her. Aliorah is already back on the Relentless.”
Hiytax, somewhat reluctantly, allowed Genevieve to drag him away from the chaotic scene and back out onto the beach. When they emerged from the crumbling structure, they were greeted by Daedalus.
Are you okay, Hiytax?
Hiytax nods and coughs a handful of times, “Aliorah… is she?”
She’s fine, but we’ll all be in trouble soon if we don’t leave this place.
