Chapter 42: Home, Sweet Home

The roar of ship wakes Mr. Bedlam. He instinctively attempts to jump to his feet only to find that he can’t move… at all. He blinks a few times, trying to clear his vision, but it doesn’t improve. He tries to reach up and wipe his eyes. There is some sort of dust clouding his vision. He quickly learns that he is utterly immobilized. He sees a faint glowing light through some cracks in the darkness. He figures he must be trapped beneath several pieces of rubble.

Jefferson?!

Athena must be just above him, “I’m down here, Athena? Where is Officer Coal?”

“I’m here, sir,” Officer Coal shoves a larger chunk of debris out of the way to where Mr. Bedlam can see the two of them, “We’ll get you out, sir, don’t worry.”

Mr. Bedlam would shrug his shoulders if he could, instead he just rolls his eyes, “When I’m worried, you’ll know.”

Well, he certainly seems healthy enough.

Officer Coal stops for a moment and stares at Athena.

What?
