Chapter 13: Respect

An hour later, we were all packed up and back at the office. The guys had stopped by to make sure the vampire's body didn't get mixed in with the humans and I decided to head back to start the computer work. The elevator doors had just pinged open when I saw Bobby standing in the middle of the floor, arms crossed and fury radiating off of him in waves.

My stomach dropped at the sight of him, my mind flashing back to my childhood. Anytime I misbehaved, I was pulled into his room and fed a lecture about the dangers of becoming a vampire. He always made sure to include all the atrocities they would inflict upon me. If I was lucky, I walked away with a simple slap to make the lesson stick. If I wasn't… well, let's just say that if I hadn't had the bloodline that I do, my back would be a scarred mess.
