Chapter 15: Punishments

We walked through the front door, and my jaw dropped. I should have known. I should have known that if the outside was beautiful, it would be nothing compared to the inside. This wasn't anything I could have ever dreamed of when I thought about entering the vampire estate.

It was the polar opposite of what we saw at Amos's apartment. The mansion was wide and open, with hardwood floors and light walls. Windows took up the entire back wall, casting the room with a bright cheery light while giving a gorgeous view of the backyard. I could barely make out a large back patio with a pool. The furniture was all modern, but comfortable. It was cozy and luxurious, two descriptors that I never expected to fit together. Least of all here.
