Chapter 35: Crossroads

With a last look at Ezra, I stood and followed Clarke out of the library and into the hall. We were silent on the short walk to the end of the hall. Clarke paused in front of a large set of wooden double doors before pushing them open and beckoning me to follow him.

It was a large bedroom with another glass ceiling. I smiled at the sight of it. Ezra wasn't lying. He really did love to stare at the stars. I wondered briefly if all the rooms had glass ceilings. I'd only seen the outside of the house during the day when the blinds were up. It was too dark to see tonight. I decided I would investigate further tomorrow.

The room was long with a large king-size bed with a maroon bedspread taking up the left side of the room. In the middle was a thin brick fireplace that seemed to act as a separator from the second half of the bedroom.
