“You can’t tell Theros,” Olive argued.
Illyra had asked both Olive and Theros to join her at the Forest House for a diplomatic meeting. She’d sent word to Skylar too. Zane had replied, informing her the king was busy with an incursion of those ice birds.
Since Skylar already knew about her pregnancy, he didn’t have to be there, but Illyra would have liked to have him as an alley.
Olive had been supportive enough, but she knew that if it came down to it, Olive wouldn’t choose sides.
“He is the only monarch that doesn’t know, and that isn’t fair,” Illyra said. She walked through the halls of her palace, Olive keeping pace beside her.
King Theros hadn’t arrived yet but he was on his way and Illyra had spent all morning preparing a closed session in her conference room. There would be no interruptions, so the food and refreshments were already laid out in the chamber.
