Chapter 47: How to Win a War

Skylar and Hunter slipped through the trees silently, inching closer to Theros and his paltry guard. Only a king fool would think he’s protected away from the main battle.

The Snow King glanced at Hunter and gave a single nod. The young warrior knew what to do.

Straightening, Hunter snapped his fingers, on both hands, several times in rapid succession. With each snap, a cracking sound, like a firecracker going off, popped around Theros and his guards, sparks and small explosions bursting around them.

Theros’s tawny horse spooked, squealing in terror and rearing up as his guards were carried off in different directions by their startled steeds.

“Settle down!” Theros cried, throwing his arms up. “Whoa, whoa…”

The horse whinnied and took off into the woods, leaving Theros alone.

Skylar smirked and clapped Hunter on the back. “Perfect,” he said.

“What now?” Hunter asked.
