Chapter 91: Deep underground

Anatu stiffened. He never allowed her anywhere near any information about their military. Her Bunrika systems were malfunctioning. She shouldn't be able to feel this anxiety. "Why didn't you tell me about this before?" Was he going to interrogate her? The sense of betrayal was so intense it made her joints ache.

He didn't answer, and she started looking for escape routes. But even a cyborg couldn't jump out of a helicopter and survive. But she was tempted to try. And the look he gave her said he knew she wanted to try it. "Are you going to interrogate me?"

His smirk was unpleasant. "No, I am going to show you what humans can do if we are pushed hard enough."

Anatu took off the headrest and stared down at the alien landscape rushing by underneath them. She didn't want to talk to him anymore. Tall buildings gave way to houses, and then the landscape only showed a black road with fascinating plants and animals dotted around. They flew to a warehouse out in the middle of nowhere.
