Chapter 94: Ships

John wiped his hand over the bristles of his short hair. It had all gone to hell because he was a sentimental idiot. He'd thought he'd feel triumph when he showed Balthazar who was in charge. But all he could think of was the hurt and betrayal he could see in Anatu's gaze.

He wanted all this to be over so that he could take Anatu home and force her to talk to him. She stood next to him, but she might as well be on the surface. If only she'd glare at him or try to hit him. A cold hand fisted his heart. He'd have to find a way to ensure she didn't go to the ship where he couldn't follow her.

They reached the bottom, and they all stepped out. Balthazar and Nebuchadnezzar looked around them. "Impressive."
