Chapter Two

It was the biggest day of her life and Amelia couldn't believe that the D day had finally come. If anybody had ever told her that she was going to get married to Brain after almost a year of dating then she was never going to believe it.

But here it was happening and no matter how much she tried to convince herself that this was a dream the harsh truth was that it was reality.

She had never felt so happy and content in her entire life. Some people marry without truly experiencing the joy of dating and having a stable partner but not Amelia. She had gotten everything in balanced and equal measure.

Today as she sat in front of the mirror and watched her make up artist transform her face she was extremely proud of herself for nailing someone like Brain.

The man was a complete package. Nothing could be denied in that fact.

He was kind, handsome, compassionate and good in bed, every single thing one could wish for in a man he possesed.

America didn't even want to start talking about his physical traits from his rock hard abs to the bulge of his biceps.

They had been dating for a year and she felt like no one else completed her the way that Brain did.

"Gosh you need to look very beautiful today, you know? It's your wedding and nothing should spoil that for you. Back when I was getting married there was no one to do my makeup. It wasn't as glamorous as yours is going to be '' her aunt Bridget rattled as she stood beside the make-up artist inspiring every single work that the woman did.

Amelia loved her aunt but she wished that today she would just shut up and let her have her thoughts to herself.

She almost did it but bit back her tongue at the last moment.

Her aunt frowned at her and shook her head, a light smile playing at the corner of her lips.

"Don't gimme that look that makes me think you think I talk too much. I have a right to be happy for my niece don't I?"

Then in a whisper she lowered her voice bringing her ear closer to Amelias.

"Not everyone is capable of nailing Brian you know so if I talk too much today know that I'm proud of you."

Amelia flashed her aunt a grin.

"I would never say you talk too much aunt, why would you ever think of me that way?"

Bridget shrugged, "Lately I've been thinking I talk too much myself.

Amelia couldn't control herself and before she could stop herself she had snorted out a laughter which erupted to loud fits of giggles.

The make up artist threw her a disapproving look as she struggled to regain composure of herself.

There was a sudden knock on the door and Amelia's mother poked her head inside.

"Am I allowed to come in and see my baby girl?"

"Yes mom."

Amelia's mother Jane opened the door and crept into the room as though she was entering into a forbidden place in the middle of the night as a burglar.

"Your father was constantly stubborn about coming to meet you and in the end I had to sneak away from him. You look stunning dear."

"Thanks Mum."

Jane turned to the makeup artist and smiled.

"I'm glad we could render your services. You've done an excellent job on my daughter."

The artist only threw her a weak smile, "My pleasure" she replied.

The artist left as soon as she was done with the final finishing touches on Amelia's face.

Jane stood at the back of her daughter watching her as she looked at herself in the mirror and felt immense pride swell through her.

Another knock on the door bolted her out of her thoughts.

"There is suddenly a suspicious amount of knocking on this door today" Bridget muttered.

"Who is that?" Jane called out.

"It's me Brain, I came to see Amelia."

Amelia felt her heart skip a beat and was about to speak when Bridget cut her off.

"You can't Brain, you know it's a taboo to see your wife before she has walked the altar. It's bad luck.

"That's just baseless superstition, come on, open the door lemme just look at her for five minutes even if."

Bridget rolled her eyes. "I'm not opening the door for you Brain, soon you're going to have Amelia all by yourself let us enjoy this brief moment that we have with her '' Bridget said stubbornly.

"Come on Bridget, it's my wedding day. I'm supposed to get a free pass on all your bullying today at least."

''Sorry Brain, no free passes for you today and I don't care if it's your death day. It's my turn to spend some time with my niece you had her for one year now."

"Amelia honey, are you not going to do anything to back me up here? I'm being bullied."

"I have to side with my aunt on this one Brain sorry but my hands are tied here."

Brain finally groaned in frustration and sighed.

"Allright, allright, I'll listen to you just this once," he said, finally walking away from the door.

"You were too harsh on him Bridget, i think that you should have reduced the way that you were talking to him just a bit" Jane said with a smirk on her face.

"Maybe I was, maybe I wasn't, he deserves it either way, he's about to take Amelia away who knows when next we are going to see her."

"Don't go all paranoid on me aunt I'm not to disappear out of existence just yet after our honeymoon i'll be back to the house."

Bridget shook her head and suddenly there was a sad look on her face. It had appeared so suddenly that Amelia herself had been shocked.

"It's going to be different without you Amelia and I'm not saying this lightly."

Amelia got up from her chair and turned to face her mother and aunt.

"Group hug" she said, spreading her arms out as her mother and aunt came towards her.

She enveloped them both in a warm hug.

"Don't worry I'm not going to be gone forever I'll still come back. You're still my mother and you're my aunt and you know how big I am on the concept of family."

They stayed like that, each relishing the moment none of them wanting to break it.

There was a sharp knock in the door for the upteenth time and her uncle poked his head inside.

"Break the hug it's started, the priest is here" he said with a wide grin on his face.

"Oh John, do you always have to spoil all the fun?" Her mother queried In a teary voice.

"You all should have known this was going to come when you allowed her to fall head over heels for Brain."

"Alright alright we're bringing her over, wouldn't want to waste the priest's time now would we?"

Amelia nodded and went over to the box where she had stored her wedding gown. Brain had insisted on her getting one of the best gowns that the store had to offer.

It turned out that the best had also been the most expensive. Brain had paid for it in the blink of an eye.

She could still remember his words clearly. You're a queen and a queen deserves to get whatever it is she wants.

She felt her cheeks flush as she pulled out the gown. It was made of a milky white material that seemed to radiate an angelic brightness.

The centre of the gown had been done in a sort of floral pattern with white roses that had both been embedded with silver looking crystals.

The sleeves of the gown had been done in an even whiter material and running from the elbow to the hand were the same crystals that had been done in the center of the material.

She put on the gown making sure to be extra careful as she worked her way into it.

When she was done it fit her perfectly like a glove and as she turned to stare at herself at the mirror the feeling of satisfaction she was felt was massive.

Her mother and aunt were standing at the door waiting for her, each dressed in a floral dress.

"Shall we?" They both said simultaneously their elbow out.

Amelia walked over to them and b ogre her mother linked her arms with her she slipped on her white veil.

"Yes, we shall."

Outside Amelia's room. The hall where the wedding was going to take place was crammed with people.

Everybody wanted to know who had eventually managed to tie the knot with Brain. The name Brain wasn't foreign in these parts; his name was well known.

Owner of a multi million dollar company and one of the most dashing young men Philadelphia had to offer when it came down to looks. He was also a notorious playboy and had broken a lot of hearts along the way.

So when he had finally agreed to marry Amelia it broke a lot of headline news.

The argument had been divided into two sides; factions that were annoyed at Brain for marrying a simpleton and those that were happy for the said simpleton.

In the end there was nothing they could do, Brain had chosen who he wanted to.

The event hall could house a capacity of about roughly three hundred people and that was the number of people who had turned up for the wedding.

It was thoroughly packed. The news had called it one of the most influential wedding if the year.

At the moment the hall was filled with chatter, gossip and all sorts of small talk.

As soon as the preist stepped into the hall flanked by two altar boys the air in the hall suddenly changed, moving from dormancy to that of pure excitement.

The minister moved briskly paying no heed to anything that was going on around him.

Following behind shortly was two flower girls who were sprinkling what looked like confetti on the air and ground of the carpeted hall.

As they moved in unison they could be heard audibly singing.

After a few seconds Jane and Bridget stepped in with Amelia in the middle of both women.

The drummers that were stationed at the far end of the hall went berserk announcing the presence of Amelia. The most talked about bride

The trio marched to the altar without missing a step.

They dropped Amelia off and returned to their seat.

From the entrance to the hall approached Brain with his brother Johnny at his side and when Amelia looked at him through the semi transparent veil that covered her face she felt her breath hitch in her throat.

He looked stunning, with his smartly tailor fitted suit that hugged his body in a sexy way. He had shaved, reducing his full beard to a dark stubble that highlighted his angular jaw.

His eyes were the same as the day she had first met him. Warm and blue.

Brian reached the altar and faced Amelia with a grin on his face.

The hall instantly went quiet as the priest started the marriage rites.

"If anyone would not like to see these two couple get married, speak now or forever hold your peace," the priest boomed, turning his eyes to watch the people that were gathered in the hall.

There was silence, somewhere in the background there was a cough followed by a smothered hush but no one objected.

The priest wore a small smile on his face, the union was indeed made in heaven. However as he turned to continue the wedding rites there was a shout from behind him.

"Stop."

Almost simultaneously a murmur spread through the people gathered in the hall like a ripple in water. Every single pair of eyes in the hall turned back to look at the tall figure of a man dressed in an expensive tailored suit.

Amelia felt her heart thud painfully behind her chest. She looked at Brain but his face was a mask of surprise and horror

The man marched briskly to the altar, his face set in a grimace as his cold blue eyes stared ahead, right at Amelia and she could feel his gaze penetrate the veil reaching into her soul.He reached the altar and walked up the small flight of stairs to reach the priest.

"I'm Dylan Moore and I'm taking Amelia Shaw as my wife" he said, his cold gaze fixed on Brain who was staring at Dylan in horror.
