She was sitting restless at a table, her head resting on her fist. She could feel her heart pumping blood through her neck.
'My queen, we're landing in about five minutes,' a soldier said, while breathing like he just ran a mile. He probably did, now that she thought about it. Her spaceship was large.
'Tell them to wait for queen Tera. I want to give my people some last instructions before we enter Earth.'
'Alright, my queen, I'll tell them you're coming.'
'No,' she said sternly. 'You'll tell them to wáit for me, not just that I'm coming.'
'I'm sorry, my queen, I'll tell them to wait for you.' Even though his eyes gave away that he was confused, he said his sentence as if he totally knew the difference between the two things. Tera smiled. He was loyal, just like everyone on board.
She stood up with a sigh. She had already been sitting too long, since her butt didn't have any feeling anymore.
The room was bright, a bit too much for her liking but oh well, it was a gift from her husband Vir, and it came straight from his heart, so who was she to mock about it?
After doubting a few seconds, she decided to prepare in her dressing room real quick. She grabbed the key, which was hidden far away in one of her pockets, before opening the door. A cool wind came to meet her as soon as she stepped in. The lights automatically switched on, making it so that she could see her room in full view. There were pillows everywhere, just how she liked it. She yawned, why couldn't this day be over already? A well-deserved rest would be in its place now.
She walked to the big mirror in the corner of the room with quick, short steps. As almost always, she wore high heels, so every single step made a little 'tock' sound on the wooden floor, which her husband stole from another planet.
The mirror opened with a quick gesture of her hands. The object was enchanted with a special kind of magic, making it so that everyone that looked into the mirror looked good. But in her opinion, she was beautiful in any kind of mirror.
Her face looked like it was made out of white marble. A few blue symbols were engraved in her cheeks, and a round, blue diamond rested permanently on her forehead.
She applied a bit of blue eyeshadow around her eyes, then painted her lips purple. They just looked like they were made to be kissed, she thought.
A smile crawled on her face. They were ready for this. They were gonna take Earth, and enslave all humans. The other colonies in space were barely gonna believe their ears: no one ever managed to take the planet of the humans yet, but one of her personal scientists found a way for other species to survive there. They were going to be rich, and not just a bit.
'The queen is gonna give a speech in one minute. I repeat, the queen is gonna give a speech in one minute.' Tera sighed, didn't she clearly say that he needed to tell the people to wait for her? Now she had to be there in a minute.
'I welcome you here, folk of the Laves, to a new era.' After saying her first sentence, she paused for a bit, to build up tension. Slowly, she grabbed the railing that seperated her from the masses. It was made out of iron, another element her husband stole from earth. The material felt cold under her hands.
'Our scientists have found a way for us to adapt to life on Earth, and let me tell you this: we will thrive.' She had located a few of her men around the hall, who were there to start cheering, or clapping, or whatever she wanted. Now, a silent clapping started to arise around the people, and before she knew it, she was given a standing ovation.
'Shhhhh…', after a gesture of her hands, everyone was dead silent again.
'But… we should not be foolish, we should not underestimate the humans, for they've grown stronger in our absence. And that's why…' she let her eyes move around the crowd. Everyone looked expectantly at her. With a few quick steps, she walked to the cage that stood at the other side of the balcony. A yellow towel was draped over it. She took the towel off, gently, revealing a weird creature inside.
'That's why we're turning them into our slaves. Ladies and gentlemen, you're looking at the creature that the entirety of earth is going to be in a few years!' Tera expected another standing ovation, but instead everyone was staring curiously at what she just revealed.
It looked nothing like the humans they had seen previously. It was about the same shape, yes, but it was way smaller. Its skin was blue-ish, and wrinkled entirely. How was this strong enough to be their slave?
Suddenly, the creature woke up. It was a bit confused at first, but after realizing everyone was looking at him, or her, it jumped up and started banging at the iron bars that imprisoned the poor thing.
'What do you think of it?' Tera said while laughing mockingly. 'Let's attack Earth, and take it!'
