Detached

"Bro...you haven't even answered my question yet." Saber said with an annoyed voice.

Seeing such an impatient youth, the old man could only lament and reminiscence about the time in the past when people respected him. This caused him to chuckle, the amount of knowledge he was in the know of, not helping him in front of a rude brat such as Saber.

"Little kid, I have never said that I am evil or good. Neither did I ever say you are evil. I only asked why you act in such an evil way. Your actions interest me, and along with it, your very existence is truly a mystery to me, and that is what interests me most."

He said. The words spoken caused Saber to click his tongue in annoyance since he was beginning to become annoyed by the old man's choice of words.

"Firstly, there isn't any reason for me to do such actions besides the fact that I find female meat delicious. Secondly, the elder disciple's death along with Hale wasn't all that important since they died simply because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Lastly, why do you keep saying my existence is interesting, or I am different from the others. Old man, even if I am your type, as of this moment, I am asexual.

I have little interest in the most disgusting of mortal sins. And, I find old meat not anywhere near as tasty as young females."

Saber said with a tone filled with contempt. The words caused tick marks to form on the old man's forehead.

"Little brat! It seems that you are unaware of how to talk to adults!" He shouted in anger. Right after he decided that it would be better to calm himself so he took a few breaths to cool his nerve before he then continued.

"As I had previously said, this universe is a lot bigger than your current mind can comprehend. Not only is it filled with many races, hidden powers, and unknown realms.

But, there are also some incomprehensible treasures that even the most powerful of beings in this universe are unable to understand even its surface.

For one is the 9 wish-granting orbs scattered throughout the universe. Many, many years ago such an orb fell in my hands.

Though it could have granted me a wish, I was greedy and wanted to get an over-the-top wish. So I scavenged throughout the universe and gathered all nine wish orbs, while simultaneously gaining many enemies.

But, I got it. I got all nine wish-orbs and then did something any being in my place would ask for.

With two wishes in hand, I asked for my mind to be able to handle an infinite influx of information and to be able to gain omniscience. That was how I became an all-knowing being." The old man said. His words shocked Saber greatly, causing Saber to then ask.

"If you claim to be all-knowing, then why did you bother asking me why I do what I do, why did you say that my existence is interesting, aren't you all-knowing, if you are wouldn't you know everything about me.

No, all of that isn't even the most confusing. The most confusing thing is the reason why we are in this situation in the first place.

Why did you even die in the first place?"

The old man who heard Saber's words couldn't help but get annoyed by the brat's impatience once more before he then said out loud.

"If you wait for me to finish my words, then maybe you'll be able to slowly understand everything."

The old man said angrily before he then continued. "The reason why I died was obviously that I asked to be all-knowing and not all-powerful. In all 6,687,029,495,103,001 possibilities, I was fated to die.

But, out of all of them, the only ones that I was able to have some semblance of gaining revenge in, was the completely unknown one, the completely unknown one where I understood that I needed to use my immense knowledge to create a sword that could continuously evolve.

A blade that could forever get stronger with its master. Thereafter, I followed everything I was able to see and did everything I needed to do. Those bastards who were my enemies did everything I wanted them to, and eventually, we end up here.

A world that was filled with mortals.

A world that was my death bed.

A world where I met the only being able to kill my enemies.

The only being in this universe who I am unable to get information about."

The old man said. His voice rang in Saber's ears as he realized that he seemed to be this being the old man spoke of. And, as he was about to reply, the old man's voice then continued.

"Out of all the sentient and non-sentient existences in this universe, only you I am unaware of. Of course, there may be others like you, but of course, I am unaware of them. Anyway, after gaining omniscience, I was able to figure out many things.

Things better not yet said. But, what I can say is, that you are a being from outside of this universe. A lifeform detached from the workings of this universe. An existence unaffected by things such as luck, fate, and destiny."

The old man said before pointing his finger toward the chest board on which they sat as he then said.

"This is the universe. This is how it works. Everything else is akin to a chest piece on the board." He said as he then pointed at the pawns and said.

"Those are the destinies of most lifeforms in this universe. No matter what, these lifeforms will always be pawns, low breeds, slaves, and commoners." Then he pointed at the bishops, knights, and rooks as he then said.

"They are all the people in between. If the pawns make up 90% of the universe, then these lifeforms make up 9% of the lifeforms in the universe. No matter what, their destiny is to be in that 9%.

They will never know what it is like to be in the 90% below or the 1% above. Of course, that is unless they gain a treasure that defies the workings of the universe...well, most times it is in their destinies to gain such treasures." The old man said as he then pointed at the king and queen.

"This is the 1% of the universe. No matter what, they will always end up as winners. Even if killed, they would somehow be revived be it by luck, by their friends, or by a completely random stranger who didn't even realize what he did.

That is just how they are fated to be. They are sometimes called sons of destiny, or heavens child. It matters not their name, what matters is the fact that they are all brimming with intense luck."

As the old man said these words, he then pointed his finger at Saber and said with a smile on his face.

"You, on the other hand, is something completely different from them. You could end up dying, but you are also the only one in this universe that I know of, who can kill these sons of destiny or so-called heavens children.

Their immense luck does not affect the detached being!!"
