Strong Rule and Weak Quiver

(One Week Later)

In a mere week, many things happened in this unlucky city.

With the appearance of a mysterious virus that affected even cultivators and the continuous and extreme number of deaths, the number of Kill points Saber gained, wasn't little. Saber's poison began causing deaths throughout this city. Many individuals who had previously entered taverns and brothels found themselves 6 feet under.

Standing on top of the tallest building in this city, Saber couldn't help but let out a wide smile when seeing the number floating in front of his eyes. A number that for every few breaths of time, would raise.

'603,184'

Saber couldn't help but say the number in his mind. Such a number is something Saber never even dreamt of previously.

Logically speaking, Saber had a fair idea and knew that for whatever reason, it would not be so easy to reach a full 100% bloodline awakening even if he could technically raise the percentage by 60%.

He wasn't naive enough to think that this number of Kill points would be enough. It was similar to cultivation. In the beginning, one can break through realms at incredible speeds, but eventually, such a speed will deteriorate.

One can say it is the same concept here. Saber thought that the most probable outcome is, that he will be able to raise his bloodline awakening % like normal until it reaches 30%.

Thereafter, something would change to then make the cost of kill points even more exaggerated. At the very least, according to the books he read in his first world, Saber knew things are never easy.

Plus, the fact that after every 10%, he feels a substantial increase in strength, way more than normal, it is pretty obvious that something like what he was currently thinking, would happen.

Anyway, under normal circumstances, he would have rushed to raise the percentage of his bloodline awakening but, Saber wanted to do such a thing outside this city.

The thing is, exiting the city seemed to be a drag, he first wanted to get the most out of this city's residents. Such easy Kill points to farm. Only a fool wouldn't take this opportunity.

Thinking this, Saber smiled happily. Under his feet was the rooftop of this city's city lord. A city lord who was left with confusion.

Saber knew sooner or later, they'll realize this virus isn't natural, so he decided tonight, it'll be the best time to act inside the homes of this city's residents.

To increase the amount of death, Saber wouldn't bother with slowly poisoning them. A lot of people have already died, so he didn't need to hold back.

Plus, it'll look weird if deaths had stopped for a few days, and then started up again right after. So, to keep the city lord busy, he'll quicken the pace at which this city undergoes suffering.

With his battle power. His mere physical strength was something that even the beings residing on this continent couldn't hope to comprehend.

Even if they were also body cultivators, Saber realized that they were very different compared to him. Unlike him who can eat and absorb the atomic energy and now Sage energy in a person, these humans were unable to do such a thing.

Hence, many rather choose Sage cultivation rather than body cultivation. Mainly because the speed of body cultivation isn't near the speed of Sage cultivation.

With these thoughts, Saber disappeared from the city lord's rooftop and appeared somewhere else in the city. The smile on his face grew wider the longer the night went on.

His blood seemingly understood Saber's intention and the deaths of the beings in this city took place a lot quicker compared to when it entered the bodies of the beings in the pubs and brothels.

Many, many deaths throughout the city took place.

"Impossible!"

A loud shout resounded inside a 20-meter room. In the middle of this room, there was a wide circular table in the middle with many figures sitting around it. The figure who had previously shouted out looked like a middle-aged man with short black hair and a ruff-looking beard.

"It is impossible for a natural virus to affect and kill cultivators!" The middle-aged man shouted once more. His face showed anger and annoyance toward the beings on the other side of the table.

The figures on the other side though merely shrugged their shoulders. One of them, an old man to be exact, then said with a calm smile on his face.

"Look, our job is to protect our disciples. The people who caused this virus could be targeting our weak and innocent disciples right now. If you have nothing to say, then we'll be leaving."

The old man said with a smirk on his face. He had wrinkled skin and white hair. His beard had reached to his chest while the slightly hunched back of his made it look as if he had a longer than the normal neck.

The words of the old man greatly angered all of the people who were on the side of the middle-aged man. Even though this continent was owned by a righteous faction, the righteous faction wasn't as righteous as they made it out to be.

This was merely how the cultivation world was. If you aren't strong, then you will always be the servants of the weak. If you do not have a strong background, then you will always be the slaves of the one with a strong background.

It was a dog-eat-dog world. And the city lord of this city was unlucky since, even if a branch of the heavenly body sect was located here in his city, the said branch of the heavenly sect would only protect their people.

Even if the virus killed all the people of this city, as long as their people were safe, then they wouldn't interfere. And, the city lord knew this.

He knew that they were strong. Way stronger than him, even if he wanted their help, he would need to beg for it while also giving them something that he could consider precious.

He was merely a pawn for them, and he had no choice but to watch as his people are killed by what he knew was not a mere virus caused by nature.

No, he knew it was the doing of someone. If he wasn't going to get the help of the people he is a servant to, then he'll just do it by himself. In this world, a world where the strong rule and the weak quiver, it was always better to do things by yourself.

So, with such a thought in mind, he stormed out of the room along with his people and slammed the doors closed in a show of anger.

Thereafter, he ordered his people to search for the most suspicious people in his city. Of course, such an action would be impossible under normal circumstances, but with certain treasures, he was sure he would be able to find the culprit.

(A Branch Of The Heavenly Body Sect)

Standing on the rooftop of this sect's Sect Master's residence, Saber was adorned with a crazed smile on his face. He couldn't believe he had left out a whole sect.

"Leviathan, is this truly a location filled with hundreds of thousands of people?" He asked his servant with slight confusion and even more anticipation.

"Yes master, unlike the Sword Art Sect, this sect appears to accept any type of talent." Leviathan said.
