Devour

With the appearance of the most powerful fighter in the skies, all of the winged creatures shifted their attention toward Saber as Aegon's body began falling to the ground uncontrollably! It seemed that even he, a True Lifeform, had run out of his stamina and needed to rest.

.

*Inhale*

Saber, who was surrounded by hundreds of gargoyles took a deep breath in. His aura was calm, and not even a ripple in the air escaped his senses.

His hair swayed in the cold winds of Hell and the hot air refreshed his insides. It affected him little in the state he was currently in, and his consciousness was not where one would expect.

Even before any of the winged creatures could think about reaching him, Saber found himself inside a dark space. It was a dark space that he had only entered when trying to find the secrets of his body as he calmly smiled.

Thereafter, he sent a punch toward the barrier that had previously blocked his ascent.

*Boom*

It was a punch that contained way more power than he ever used. Saber once more smiled when sensing this and he then thought.

'Hmm, it seems the calmer I am when I am in a perilous situation, the stronger my power will become when I find myself in this realm.'

With this thought, Saber punched a few hundred more times before re-entering his physical body. Though he did not make any cracks on the barrier, his calm mind did not leave.

Swoosh!...

Multiple beasts suddenly flashed across the skies and approached Saber who still calmly floated in the air.

Thereafter, a scene that went on to shock every lifeform of Saber's group, was then displayed in front of their eyes.

They watched on in shock as the winged creature sent a beam from its mouth, and Saber evaded it with very minute movement. He then seemingly walked on the air with extreme casualness, yet he appeared in front of the creature is but a mere instant.

*Pow*

Saber sent a casual punch into the gut of the winged beast, causing it to throw up a mouthful of blood. Thereafter, Saber grabbed the neck of the winged beast and spun around as he used the body of the beast as a shield for the incoming beam of energy that was sent by another beast!

As the beast died, Saber flung it as if it was trash as he disappeared from his position and appeared behind another beast. His movements were so quick that the beasts were unable to keep track of it.

Saber moved so quickly that only Aegon was able to see a blur in his vision that moved at what one can say is an incomprehensible speed. He then entered a martial art stance as he sent a slow kick that caused spider-web-like-cracks to form in the surrounding space of his leg.

It was as if all the creatures were moving in slow motion, yet Saber retained his normal speed. Or it was more like, Saber had entered another realm of speed, different from what mortal creatures could ever know about.

*Pow*

Saber's leg went straight through the head of the winged creature, turning it into but a mere mist of what it used to be.

It dropped lifelessly to the ground as another creature had finally caught sight of Saber's stationary body. Floating in the air, and without bothering to look, Saber tilted his head to his left and evaded a beam of energy that approached him from behind.

Thereafter, multiple beams rapidly approached him from all different directions. This brought about a feeling of worry tinged with fear for an unknown future from the disciples of Borden.

It was obvious that if Saber were to be killed, they would also die, so seeing him in the destined location of multiple beams, they felt as if their hearts were about to blast out of their chest.

"Don't worry...it seems that the bastard has completely surpassed me once more!" Aegon said through gritted teeth. He couldn't believe it, Saber's whole existence was a cheat. What could he do to keep up with someone who if so ever wills it, can become stronger in perilous situations.

Saber, who saw the multiple black beams of energy zooming toward him could only smirk as he then lifted his right hand. Thereafter, a beam of dark purple energy that oozed with incredibly potent power shot out, and toward a random direction.

*BOOM*

A massive explosion then occurred as a dust cloud formed.

*Boom*

Another explosion occurred as the cloud of dust became way thicker. What Borden's disciples along with Aegon saw thereafter, was the sight of tens of headless winged creatures falling to the ground.

*Pam*

*Boom*

*Pow*

Saber's punches that cracked the space around his hand were sent out as his fists seemed to be blurred. The winged creatures were way out of their league fighting Saber, and everyone knew it.

Another beam of energy came from Saber's blind spot, well, it would have been a blind spot for a normal lifeform, yet he casually took the shot...No, his afterimages casually took the shot as he calmly placed his hand on the shoulder of the winged creature who sent the shot.

Using illogical strength, Saber merely pressed down on the shoulder of the winged creature. This mere action caused the shoulder of the creature to disappear from its body. Thereafter, a purple aura wrapped around the body of the creature as Saber devoured the creature whole.

Floating in the skies, Saber's cold and unfeeling eyes perceived his surroundings as a dazzling smile formed on his face.

If one were to have watched the whole scene of Saber's battle closely, they would have been able to discern the fact that Saber had seemed to have somehow baited the winged creatures to move in ways he wanted them, as he had gotten quite the number of them to be in a 50-meter circumference of himself.

Suddenly, a wild and unrestrainable aura shot out of his body and covered the whole area that enshrouded all of the beasts that were stationed there. His smile grew wider and a peal of creepy laughter almost escaped his lips as he then shouted at the top of his lungs even though it was unnecessary.

"Devour!!"

One word...

Yet, with this mere word, the bodies of every creature that was enshrouded inside of the dark purple aura suddenly felt as if something was being forcefully pulled out of their bodies.

A sensitive lifeform would have realized that while the energy radiating off of the beasts was becoming smaller, on the other hand, the energy signature radiating off of Saber spiked to an unbelievable level.

Soon, the only thing left from the winged beasts was a skeleton that lifelessly fell to the earth.

The existence who caused this seemed to have been reborn as his stamina that had risen when he entered the calm state, once more rose, along with his almost infinite energy.

He then shifted his attention from the skeletons, toward the few remaining beasts. His eyes widen in shock as he then went on to think.

'This...am I too overpowered. I mean, even I think this is unfair?' Saber thought.

Soon in the near future, he would soon come to eat such a way of thinking as he'll understand to never be so wrongfully confident in his half-ass abilities...
