Pure-Heart (2)

"Zeno said there were two ways to increase my strength. The first was to annihilate and this must be the second. Entering the Void... No wonder he told me to annihilate the Universe..."

"It was a trial but, once I completed it, I'd gain a lot of benefits!"

Thrum!

What was beyond the Universe? Oblivion didn't know but clearly, he'll be entering the empty void if it wasn't for the Universe.

But to destroy the Universe, his enemies would be True Immortals and every other Immortal cultivator that resided inside!

Hence the difficulty. The older brothers he didn't know of had all failed...

"They just lacked talent..." Oblivion uttered.

Closing his eyes, he began absorbing the Void energy. It was interesting since, nothing was the energy, so technically, he had infinite energy right...?

As he thought, his cultivation base began to skyrocket. City Lord Benjamin was on his list of people to kill only because the need to raise his strength was high.

Now that he had such a surefire way to increase his strength, the rush to kill the City Lord had lessened to a high degree.

Anyway, he planned to explore this place.

Till now he didn't meet the City Lord but he was caught up in cultivation and had not thought of it.

Level 1 Profound Immortal...

Unlike the norm, he didn't comprehend the element and then draw in the surrounding energy before he broke through to the next realm.

By deepening his comprehension, his energy reserves rose along with his comprehension.

Similarly, by absorbing the nothingness energy, his comprehension was rising along with his energy reserves.

He suddenly frowned.

"What is this..." Oblivion felt his power increasing quickly, but all of a sudden, it came to a halt, or more accurately, the void around him cracked!

The void folded in on itself as if devouring itself. The massive space collapsed in on itself into a small ball of condensed energy.

The ball didn't release any aura. This ball of condensed energy was black. Oblivion's surroundings had also turned black but this ball was even darker than it.

The ball trembled before flying away. It rushed toward the door. The lone door floated in the endless darkness.

Seeing this, Oblivion was confused.

"Is the void scared? Isn't it supposed to be endless...?" Oblivion followed the ball until he saw it faze through the door. It seemed he'll have to enter that pace to get to that energy ball.

But, he stopped. This was the first time since entering here he had locked onto this door. Unlike the city lord, he had first explored space. Seeing the door, he didn't know what to say.

"This..." He was speechless. There was a hand on the door handle. Besides the hand, there wasn't anything else as whoever had owned this hand lost the rest of his body...

Or it could be that the hand was detached and the body had lost the hand. Either way, Oblivion's gaze carried a hint of cautiousness as he activated the system skill.

"What...!"

The blue string wasn't blue any longer! Grey. A grey thread led toward the door signaling that the city lord was the owner of that hand... when he was alive that is.

Urgh!

Oblivion groaned as he felt his body uncontrollably shoot toward the door. The moment he reached a close distance, the door sprang open before his figure was swiftly enveloped by the other side!

Instantly, without any time to react or perceive what had transpired, Oblivion had disappeared from the dark realm and entered a place where the city lord seemed to have died at.

Thrum!

Oblivion's body was sucked into this place as his vision disappeared and his mind momentarily went blank. Soon after regaining his sight his mind also stabilized and he was able to realize the massive changes that took place in his location.

Silence...

Oblivion was speechless as his eyes landed on a massive spinning black and white wheel. The black and white color coupled with the spinning movement made a spiral that seemed capable of hypnotizing him and anyone else who saw it.

The spinning wheel produces a mysterious energy in its surroundings. The energy had already permeated throughout the space and had become omnipresent.

If he was any regular person, Oblivion felt like he'd have been utterly erased... no, the energy would have made his very existence a part of this energy.

Yes, this was the nothingness energy. The massive wheel was capable of producing such energy into its surroundings and shockingly enough, Oblivion felt a mental connection to this mysterious wheel.

His surroundings were completely black and white, wherever the body of City Lord was, Oblivion understood that it had already become a part of the nothingness. At this moment, the City Lord was dead and dead.

Super dead!

Oblivion didn't know what to do exactly. He couldn't process all the events that had happened...

Was he supposed to waltz up to the wheel and just take it for himself?

This was what he felt like doing but he couldn't just do this since the danger of this place was already very high the moment it can control his actions.

Thrum!

Suddenly the place vibrated. The spinning wheel stopped its movements and the scenery slowly began changing. At the center of this special space, the wheel trembled violently as it suddenly rushed toward Oblivion's figure.

Boom!

In an explosion of energy, the wheel disappeared into Oblivion's glabella! Instantly, his vision blackened, and he was knocked unconscious.

...

...

Two figures suddenly appeared in the skies. Each released an incredibly powerful aura that distorted the space.

One was a veiled woman who Oblivion would recognize as Cecelia, while the other was a young man with an aura even more powerful than Cecelia's..!

"That boy you have been with for the past few days..." The young man with brown hair and glowing brown eyes stared at the cave Oblivion entered.

"Not only does his appearance seem to be exactly like that of the Supreme Master but, his aura is somewhat similar too!"

Thrum!!

This... surely, these people weren't related to someone related to Oblivion... right?

"When I met him, he was a corpse. I was shocked though since I could sense that he was still alive. I wanted to know what he was since he obviously wasn't human." Cecelia said, continuing.

"At first, his origin simply seemed mysterious. I was interested in it and in the way he thought of the world, seeing as it was unique..."

"As for his appearance, it was a mere coincidence, is what I thought, not placing attention to it. But, I'd never expected that he had that type of weapon! A weapon that had been brought to our knowledge by the master."

Nodding his head, the brown-haired man solemnly followed up on her words.

"The exact words were, the day that someone who had a weapon that grew along with his strength appears in this small world, the day that a cultivator capable of entering the space of Pure-Heart without any special treasure, this is the day that you should awaken my consciousness."

Hearing this, Cecelia glanced at the brown-haired young man, saying.

"Master said to bring the boy. You go ahead and tell the others in the Inner Zone and the Seniors in the Central Zone, when Oblivion exits the space of Pure-Heart, I'll bring him."

The young man nodded his head. His eyes flashed with excitement at the thought of awakening the master...
