Edric is munching some garlic bread while staring at Fiora or.. Kylie. Kylie is helplessly sitting at the same
old wooden table, sipping her mushroom soup. While Beatriz cheerfully making some tea and talking
with the old man that's apparently her husband; Hans.
It was quite a ruckus scene back then. Fiora keep struggling to get free and to run. Everyone thought she
lose her mind after sleeping for a whole month. Fiora didn't even seem to remember anyone. Edric feel
sense of pity toward her but he actually pity himself more. They been so close yet, Fiora has forgotten
him too.
"My dear, here is some chamomile tea for you. Do you want more soup?"
Beatriz placed a glass of warm tea in front of her daughter then pat Fiora's head.
Kylie or Fiora shook her head. Then she noticed the concern look on Beatriz's face. So she utters..
"Maybe a little bit more soup, mom"
The lady's face instantly brightens up, so does Hans's.
"Right away my dear! You must eat a lots. You still look very pale"
"Your mom is right. Recover fast Fiona"
Hans added. Slight smile appears on his face. He is relieved. Since Fiona was bedridden for 2 weeks, his
friends and other villagers keep assuming that his daughter is dying. They keep recommending some
doctors that they know but at the same time, keep telling him not to have high hopes. But Hans never
gave up and keep waiting for his daughter to open her eyes. With few copper coins that he been saving
up, he spent almost all of it to hire doctor. But no one know why exactly she sleep for so long. Some said
she's cursed by the lake ghost. Hans still curious of the actual reason. But none of it matter so much
now. His daughter woke up. That's all he ever hoped for.
The couple sit beside their daughter. Beatriz on the left and Hans on the right side. Both of them pay
undivided attention to Fiora now. Edric still eyeing Fiora. Something don't feel right. But he can't figure
out what it is. Fiora.. Fiora is giving a strange vibe.
After the meal, Edric spend the night at the living room of their house. He lay on the old sofa full of sewn
patches. It's not that he don't have his own house. His house was only around the corner. 2 houses away
from their house. But tonight, Beatriz specially requested him to sleep there. Just in case if Fiora
suddenly decided to run again. Even so, Beatriz is sleeping on Fiora's bed while hugging her.
It feel awkward, however Fiora understand this lady feeling. A mother who thought that she might lose
her only child. Fiora sigh. She look at the snoring lady beside her and then at the dusty ceiling again.
Since she know these people names while she was having dinner, she has a little assumption. Fiora,
Edric, Hans, Beatriz. These all are the names that been mentioned in the book that she last read. 'This
Never Ending Feud' These names are the name of minor characters. Who only make few appearance in
the book. The villagers that helped a runaway noble to hide and provided him a shelter at their home.
Fiora can remember any story book that she read. Even the small details. So she is apparently in the
Brook Village. A village that's on the east of the Reims Kingdom. This village is further away than the
main city and its main economy contributors is farming and livestock. This village provided enough food
supply for the few nearby villages.
Fiora bite her thumb nail softly without actually breaking it. She's in a deep thoughts. In her original life
as Kylie, she's a poor girl who keep working hard to earn. And now she's also 'reborn' as a poor person.
Her eyes twitch. Just thinking about it make her mad.
'I don't want to be poor anymore. I need to find a way to be rich'
1 hour later, Fiora already fallen asleep. Softly snoring due to tiredness from today events. The night
pass slowly and everyone are having their rest. Owl and crickets are singing their midnight lullaby.
"Crack"
Broken twigs sounded as they been stepped by someone who's huffing and look panic. The person look
at the village in front of him and saw a house at far corner with a small barn. He pressed his wounded
shoulder to stop the bleeding as he's walking fast towards the house, limping.
