"Gran..." May looked up at Gran in shock as she saw the notifications she had gotten.
"Yep, I have received them too," Gran said seriously.
"No, I think a received a few more than you, something about a class and bloodline?" May then proceed to list all the notifications she had received.
"Hmm, interesting... So you have gotten a class? Does the system recognizes your actions and efforts and grant you a class based on them? Maybe that is how people get classes. I have always thought we needed a class change scroll or something like in the games." Gran rub his chin, an action May was already familiar with after spending so much time with him.
In fact, Gran was once again not far from the truth. In order for survivors to receive classes, they have to gain skills or create something to call their own. Based on their skillset and combat style, the system will give them a class that was most suitable for them, along with some class bonuses.
Of course, not all classes are equal, just like society. May had received a unique class, which means no one other than her can have this class. Thus in terms of rarity alone, she is at the top, and we can expect her prowess to be around the same level.
After that, we have special classes and normal classes. Special classes are just rare classes amongst the common ones. More than one person can have a special class, the same as the normal classes.
Even then, normal classes can be further differentiated. For example, two people with the [Swordsman] class may not be the same in combat ability.
One may have gained that class by gaining many skills related to it but have not honed his combat ability, while the other may have honed his ability to the peak with a few good skills.
In the end, it's a matter of which path they wish to take, with each having its own perks.
...
"So, you need affinity with snakes to get a bloodline? How odd, what kind of function is that?" Gran was surprised. Maybe he hadn't thought of it too deeply, but the bloodline function did not follow the norm in which the system does things.
"And a conjurer class huh. Sounds about right, you conjure stuff with your mind." Gran nodded in agreement this time as he glanced at the snakes surrounding May.
"So, you don't feel tired maintaining them?"
"Nope, they are partial life forms created from my mana, so only when they get injured or lose their mana body do I need to provide mana. I am awesome, aren't I? Hehe." May was feeling proud as she had made something on her own, even though she had received some guidance from Gran, the partial lifeforms are entirely her creation.
"I have also gained the Wise Mentor title, guess the system also acknowledges my efforts in raising you." Gran was satisfied with just that because one day he would create something for himself too, and when that day comes, he was sure he would shock the world once again.
...
"So this is the Level 2 shop? It's not bad." Gran said as he looked at the newly updated shop.

It was amazing, to say the least.
In addition to the daily special, there was also the monthly special, which sold truly insane stuff.
'Teleportation! How could it be... Mana really is miraculous.' Gran had his eyes wide as he was truly shocked for the first time in a long time. He knew how hard it was to achieve true teleportation, and with how the system is, this one is surely unlike the fake those scientists made in the lab.
Due to moral issues, teleportation before was banned, and for real reasons. Teleportation in the past had many issues. The human body is not static; there are many organisms living in it, and it had many organs that need to function in order for the body to survive. Thus, in order for a human body to be teleported, its organs cannot be working, the useful bacteria and organisms on its body should not be present, and to be safe its temperature should be regulated.
Even when we exclude the requirements for the bacteria, the two other requirements already made things insanely difficult. They were basically asking the human to die and be reborn when they got to the other side!
Now with the teleportation introduced by the system, things surely were about to get interesting.
...
In the end, their excitement was cut short as they saw the price of the things in the monthly special.
"1 million P and 100 white cores? Where are we going to find them? This system shop is insane! Did it also retain the capitalist's ideology?!" may was fuming, so far they had only gotten 2 white cores, which was a testament to how rare white cores were.
Gran thought, was calm. Teleportation itself was a world changer, and although he wasn't too sure about the functions of the other 2, it was guaranteed to have the same usefulness.
All they needed now was time.
...
A weird scene could be seen in the bedroom of the house they were in. Althought there are cracks here and there on the walls and in the ground, it was safe enough for them to spend the night in. There was also two rooms, thus it could be said to be very convenient for them.
The problem now was that one of them wasn't happy with the existence of the other room. She had just wanted to destroy it so that the blockhead would accept her into his bed.
Fortunately, she was able to keep her reasoning, or what was left of it. She decided that, if the circumstances forbid, then she should just ignore the circumstances!
What kind of logic!
That night, when Gran was on the bed trying to fuse the qi and mana within his body, May crept in with an egg between her soft buns, who had now grown into quite a size.
She was only fulfilling her duty as a parent and was now demanding Gran to fulfil his, towards her!
Slowly sinking in beside him, she placed the egg in his lap as he was in deep meditation. Then, she positioned herself behind him and slowly wrapped her arms around his waist.
Slowly, using the muscle control she learned from all the battling, she gently lay him down to his side, trying not to break him out of his meditative state.
With all that, she finally had a chance to cuddle with him, although it was without his consent.
She wrapped his waist and ran her hands along his body as he smelled his scent. The manly scent that didn't seem to contain any smell of sweat aroused her as she couldn't help but slowly reached down.
But!
She forgot the egg that she had placed in his lap, which was now blocking the entrance of his divine punishment. A seal to the unholy sword! How hateful, she had been forcefully stopped by their child!
With a sigh, she could only accepted what she had now and continue to breathe in his scent, slowing entering a deep slumber.
...
While may was attempting to assault him, Gran was in a world of his own.
With his recent insight, he had a bold thought. By sacrificing his qi, he could combine it together with his mana. However, it was quite risky and he needed a lot of resolve for it. There were still some other details that he hadn't yet smoothen put, and once that was done, he was sure that he will be ready to take the next step.
Instead of coexisting together like he initially thought, like how yin andyang balance and strengthen each other. The properties of qi and mana are not like yin and yang; polar opposite. Thus, the plan to fuse them in that direction had failed.
Instead, the properties of qi was one of maellability and flexibility. It was able to be shaped into anything, thus increasing the damage of the martial arts moves.
However, from what he had learn recently, mana was different.
Mana was the shaper, the forge; it mends and bends things, it enhanced and alters them.
With these in mind, he was sure that with qi being sacrificed as the medium, and mana acting as the forge, he could fuse both of them together. Thereby, forging qi into mana. Essentially creating an alloy made of qi and mana. But all of these were just theories.
In order to breakthrough, he needed to do 3 things.
Fuse the qi and mana together, fuse the meridians and mana circuits together, and finally create a core where this new energy can be produced.
...
As the tension in Gran's body loosen, he had gotten used to the comfortable position he was in as he too slunk into a deep slumber.
The 'aura' of the 3 beings, filled with warmth was slowly being mixed with each other, and if Gran was awake to witness it, he would be filled with shock to find some of his qi and mana was flowing out of his body and fusing perfectly.
What was even more shocking was strands of mana from May was also flowing out from her body, and both strands entered the egg, nourishing it.
...
Slowly, cracks started to form all over the egg as it shaked from time to time.
Something earth-shattering was about to be born!
What Gran didn't know was that his insights in qi and mana fusion was fuel for what was happening and the phenomenon was just improving and perfecting them for him.
Fate was really a mysterious thing. If May hadn't did what she did, this wouldn't have happened in the first place.
If Gran hadn't been meditating and was being close to completing his theory, the egg wouldn't have absorbed the fusion energy.
And finally if the egg hadn't been there, Gran would not have been able to save so much time and have the theory completed for him.
They really could be said to have benefitted greatly from each other!
Well, May had already gotten her benefits.
