Goddess

Chapter 10 (Ten). Goddess.

Emelia and Reo watched the scene below them without any excitement. Especially Emelia, she was disappointed by the non-interesting show of repeated gore, betrayal and sacrifices.

"Oh my, it was far less than what I have expected," grumpily stated Emelia while she shook her head. "Shouldn't it be like the how you once said? How come had it turned out very bad..."

Emelia then paused and took her time to think, afterwards, she immediately shifted her focus to another topic and asked, "But what was that kind of vehicle which could have a large amount of passengers inside, is it one of those...cars?"

Reo was still processing the scenes and found it as well typical. The old movies he watched before also had similar events, but more realistic than usual.

Hearing his wife's question, Reo casted a look at her and answered, "It's a bus, Emelia. It can accommodate about sixteen or more passengers."

"A bus, quite strange." Emelia nodded as she swung her feet up and down. The skirt of her dress softly scattered around her thighs. "Can we ride one later?"

"En. I'm fine with that," Reo did not refuse, "Then, shall I go get some snacks to fill our stomach while the characters are in search of their shelter?" Reo proposed.

"No objections." ,quickly replied Emelia. "But you have to hurry since its uncertain if a reversal would apply."

"Understood, madam." Reo chuckled as he prepared to jump off from the roof. Suddenly, a hand gripped his sleeves and he was pulled back to sit down in the floor of the rooftop.

"Hold on!"

"...Yes?"

"On second thought, I am not contented to have you go find food for me while I remain seated. So, we should change positions. Its now my job to take turn and it is a must for your wife to pamper a husband like you." Emelia voiced and added with a tinge of vocal loss of control, though, her voice was awfully lowered that Reo with his enhanced hearing could not hear it. "Moreover, that b*tch has been influenced by my necromancy. I absolutely cannot let you re interact with such menace."

Emelia patted her buttocks and then went to ruffle Reo's fluffy ivory colored hair.

Reo understood what she meant, and did as she wishes. Like a little boy, he allowed Emelia to pat his head and sat on his spot like an obedient child.

"Before you go," Just as Emelia was about to leave, Reo warned her, "You must stay low and you shouldn't attract any trouble."

"Okay." Emelia hummed in approval. She then turned around and jumped off the ledge, the black umbrella behind her opened and begun slowing down her momentum like a parachute.

Emelia quickly found her footing on the ground, her skirt floated and caped around her legs as they adjusted through the sudden movement.

Just as she was about to move forward, she realized she did not know where to find the cinema with the popcorns was. She was basically clueless.

Although, she could have chosen to get snacks at the nearby store, she found tasting the delicacy Reo once only spoke about made her mind greatly about it's whereabouts.

"Asking myself about this unanswerable question would lead me nowhere...Ah, those kids earlier might know the way." Emelia whispered to herself as she skipped the crowd corpses.

Halfway through the street, Emelia took a short rest and pondered about how she was clueless on where the actors (humans) have gone to. They were no longer in the same place as before.

She then stopped a zombie and questioned it. "Do you know where the humans are?"

"Gwrrruuu.." The undead pointed at the shop down the lane.

Emelia understood what the mumbling of incoherent words meant, the zombie was telling her that he could smell human scents around that area, though, they were unsure.

"That's fine." Emelia smiled and patted the undead. "In exchange for your information, I grant you freedom."

Then the zombie was embraced by flames and turned to dust in an instant.

...

"Olivia!" Shouted Van as his hold of his girlfriend became loose. The blonde haired teenager sprained her ankle and in momentary confusion she accidentally let go of her boyfriend's hand.

The teacher, Professor Dong, hurriedly held the young man's shoulder as he dragged him inside. But Van was agitated, he flung the teacher's hand off him and prepared to dive back into the wave of zombies.

"Van!" John cried out. Even if they hated each other, he was unwilling to make Olivia depressed if he manages to save the girl.

Van didn't bother glancing back, his attention remained on his lover who would surely die if he wouldn't come to her rescue.

Olivia's face was filled with tears, she tried to shoo him away, "Van, go back! Leave me!" She stated, despite the predicament she was facing herself.

"No, Olivia I can't!" Van refused. He wouldn't allow Olivia to die, much as it took him a great time to pursue her and give her happiness. If he does so, all of those would be a waste and he had to admit that throughout their three month of dating, they've created wonderful memories and was deeply smitten with each other.

Van had to be honest for once, he feared death actually. It was only a moment of braveness boiling in his blood that made him want to save his lover. But when he thought about certain things, he was wavering in this choice he had picked.

"John! Not you too!"

While he was a daze, John already dived into the crowd of zombies and quickly took off his jacket.

John twisted the jacket to protect himself from the mouth of the nearest zombie and allow himself to remain not bitten.

Olivia stared at him dazedly, her blue eyes filled with mist. "John...you.."

"Hurry up and run!" John shouted and all of the zombie's attention transferred into him. The situation for him was getting worse and worse, he punched the zombies in difficulty.

Unable to contemplate more about what was currently happening and what she should do, Olivia weakly stood up and was then snatched by Van. The two hastily went inside the store.

"John!" Olivia finally was able to comprehend and watched John in horror.

"Close it!" Van ordered.

"But what about..."

"Just f*cking close it!" Van stomped on the door's frame and pushed it to close the shop.

The other students was unable to do anything.

John saw the door close and he was stunned. His momentary daze created an opportunity for the zombies and quickly bit him while he was down.

"Arghhhh!!!"

And that was how, John the human died.

"Hello."

John heard a melodic voice after he regained consciousness. His blurry sight gradual became clearer and he sight upon a beautiful face.

The girl had long raven black colored hair, fair white skin, and eyes as red like the red sun. She was undoubtedly a beauty, and each moment she took was filled with grace and elegancy.

"Are you the goddess of Death?"
